Speed Trap

I was driving in Burke and saw some cops near a 25 zone
I probably was doing around 30-38, not sure, but they didn't pull me over

However I saw one cop with a camera looking thing,
do fairfax cops take pictures of speeding cars then write tickets?

The camera looking thing is laser speed detector. They aim a dot on the grill of the car.

I think it illegal again in Virginia to use cameras. It was allowed for a while and then they stopped the cameras.
