Not as good of a deal as it used to be. Long ago you could deduct the full 'fair market value.' Which usually amounted to searching for near the highest that you could find in the autos for sale section of the paper (for Millennials reading, that used to be a 'thing'). Didn't matter what yours looked like or running or not you were good as long as you had that for documentation.
