A Cleveland man and woman have been indicted for endangering the welfare of children after five kids were found in the back of their U-Haul truck on a sweltering summer day.
Brian Dekam, 55, and Jamie Adkins, 26, were first arrested in August at a Speedway gas station after workers for the city of Elyria saw a child in the cargo area of the U-Haul the pair was driving.
When Dekam opened the door to the back of the truck, five children were found inside along with two dogs, Fox 8 reports.
The kids were ages 15, 6, 4, 3 and 2. The good Samaritans who found the children told police that the 2-year-old had been strapped in a car seat, appeared unresponsive and was "bright red as a tomato," according to The Chronicle.

The child was taken to the hospital for exhaustion.
The workers also said the vehicle reeked of "cigarettes and feces."
Authorities said the children were suffering from flea bites, lice and bedbugs. Some of the kids had ringworm.
Adkins told police that she was "like a godmother" to the children and they were driving back to Cleveland from a flea market in South Amherst.
Dekam and Adkins were indicted Thursday on felony endangering children and three misdemeanor counts of endangering children.
