Greenbriar Pool is a private corporation with 600 shareholders. The only way to join the pool is to purchase an existing share from someone who currently has one. Prices of such sales are reported to have been as high as $3000 and to have averaged around $1300. The pool also collects annual and other fees from members. There are more than a hundred such pools in the Nova area. Most of them operate this way.

Not really ghetto, just not aging gracefully. It's the trade-off of not having a Nazi Homeowners Association like the one you have to live under. Now go be a good lad and bring in your garden hose and trashcan.

There are many pools that operate this way, but at most there is a waiting list to sell memberships. Neighborhood pools are not the attraction they once were. Many of those home buyers who see neighborhood pools as a plus opt for neighborhoods where pool membership comes as part of the HOA package. So this is something of a novelty. Among those stand alone pool associations where memberships regularly sell separate from the home, most still sell memberships at fixed prices. So something like this is relatively rare.

Our pool is well hidden so only those in the know can even find it.
We have people as far as Reston come to join. I would not tell anyone where it is for 10 grand.
Family friendly music. Parties every Saturday night .
Everyone knows everyone so leaving kids is the norm since it's like family.

No, Bill, it's not rare at all. You are once again full of crap. Get a list of the more than 100 NVSL pools off the internet. See how many of them are HOA-controlled and how many are private clubs like the one at Greenbriar. The pool at your apartment complex is literally not in the same league.

That's right. My time on the local pool board, at NVSL and working with the county task force on neighborhood pools provided me with NO information on the workings and conditions of neighborhood pools in NoVa, while your extensive background in, what was it, has made you an expert. Not that it matters, because it is clear from your comment that you didn't bother to read what I wrote.

What's with all the bruised pussies and hurt butts?
This is America. Everything is for sale here. Somebody has a nice life. They live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. They like to go for nice swims at a nice pool. Maybe they like to take their nice family along, too. After all, a man who doesn't spend time with his family, can never really hope to be a man...
So, you go to stroke a check for a pool membership and you find out the nice pool has limited stock partnerships and there's currently none available. But, this guy over here...next door maybe, he had the foresight to see that demand for memberships would exceed supply of memberships. He has an extra one...maybe he has an extra 12? Who knows? Who cares?
He puts it up for sale...the market dictates the price via auction, the membership is sold, the money changes hands and in the end, everybody gets what they want. The family over here who wants to go swimming, goes swimming...and the guy over there with an extra membership or 12, now has 1 less pool membership and some disposable cash at his disposal.
Why is this a problem? Everybody gets what they want here. If you were outbid, I suppose you have a legitimate right to be perhaps disappointed...but don't hate on people and don't hate on the process. It's uncivilized.
Work harder, work smarter, and amass incremental wealth to get the things you and family need. With more wealth maybe you could win the next auction. Maybe you could timeshare a portion of a neighbor's membership. Maybe you could move to another home in a neighborhood with an equally nice pool and less restrictive pool membership policies. And maybe, just maybe...now hold onto those bruised pussies and hurt butts for me...maybe, you could amass enough wealth to buy a nice piece of property with a custom house built to your specifications and...your very own pool right out the back steps of your custom built home. No sharing, no memberships and no horsecrap politics.
Live by society's rules...or make your own society...with its OWN rules. Or just stop complaining about all the shit that you think is "fucked up" about your life and take a deep breath and look around and start finding some things to be thankful and gracious about. Either way...zero fucks given about a pool membership or anything else you feel you're entitled to.
This is America. You're entitled to nothing here. You go out and make your mark and you take what you want by the force and will of your wealth. Anything less, is a communist pinko plot bent on altering your reality and confusing you about what is important in this life...

Your claims were a bunch of crap, Bill, as many of your previous claims have been. Look before you leap.

Am I swimming in fucking Jesus's bathwater?
Jesus didn't take many baths. They didn't wash much of anything back in his day. Meanwhile, the pools are typically open on a full-service basis only between Memorial Day and Labor Day, though often with scaled-back hours over the rest of September. Many people don't have that kind of money for a 4-month deal. Many people do.
Hey there guys! I am currently see how does works sales on them. It is a way that requires a lot of time and still it keeps coming slowly and slowly. Personally I work with Ebay and it keeps work for me as well. I have begun from easy sales then i thought about opening business. One site http://themoneymix.com helped me with this. By the way I guess this guide could help anyone and i wish that I helped someone to earn more that you can get for at least now.
