ARENTS WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS STUDENT RECORDS ONLINE SOON: Fairfax County Public Schools has developed a new student information system. This new system features an ability for parents to access information regarding their student and their student’s school records.
Around April 27, all parents/guardians of registered students will receive a letter in the mail that details information to register and activate an account. This account is separate from the Blackboard ParentView accounts. Very important: You must activate the account before the deactivation date listed in your letter. The account activation information will not be valid after that date.
The parent accounts allow parents to access the following student information:
· Attendance;
· Report cards for the current school year;
· Class schedules;
· Course history, including grades and verified credits;
· Discipline incidents;
· Health information, including medical conditions and immunizations;
· Emergency contact information;
· School information, including teacher email addresses;
· District calendar.
Starting next year, parents will be able to view their student’s current grades as they have been entered, including assignments, quizzes and tests with scores. Next year, teachers will not be required to email progress reports every two weeks because parents will have continuous access to their students’ current grades.
