Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
So I just bought a new home and I have been doing a lotmof furniture shopping. Bedroom, living room, guest room, dining room, etc.
Each time I've walked into a furniture store it's been the same damn thing
And I only walk in because they don't list prices on their website so i HAVE to go see the prices.
Seems like these joints have a rotation where their sales people hawk the front door for people who walk in. Everyone MUST be greeted by someone. Which is particularly fucking annoying. I don't get hounded right off the bat by people at any other store for any other reason. I just want to shop for a fucking recliner. I don't want forced conversation about the name on the sweatshirt im wearing. I want you to shit the fuck up and go away until I want to buy.
And each person who greets you claims you as "their customer."
Repeatedly Ive told them to buzz off and if I want something I'll ask for help. Repeatedly, the other sales agents walk up thinking I'm "unattended" and try to help. Which causes the other agent to sprint from across the floor and "thank" the other agent while clarifying that I'm "their" customer.
Great. So everyone there works on commission. Good for them. But could they offer a little more distance in exchange for fighting for my money? Are times tjay desperate?
So I left. The retarded salesperson came on way too strong and gave me
His card, like I give a fuck about calling a guy about a couch. Fuck him.
Today I bought a TV entertainment set, a couple of couches, a coffee table
And two end tables. You would have thought I had diarrhea of money by the way they acted. Again today the same thing... Some lady was on deck to handle the nezt customer and I was it. So I told her exactly what I wanted. Yet she needed to go look at the table so she could get the info from the card. The same info I had handed her, which she ignored. So she put the info into the computer and the sale guy from yesterday ran over and demanded to get half commission becaus he "helped me" the other day. Bulllshit he helped!! So they fought over it and a manager had to come over to unfuck the situation.
Can Ashley furniture stop with the pushy sales tactics and just sell furniture?
You think that shit is bad, try driving through Vienna. You can't even make it down the street without bouncing a few mattress salesmen off your front bumper.

Order online and stop yer bitching. Its always been this way just cuz you've finally found two dimes to rub together doesn't mean ashley furniture should go out of business. Hope your couch fucking sags, and coffee table is warped, fuckface.

How in the fuck are you supposed to choose a sofa online? Do you sit on your laptop to see if the sofa is comfortable or not?
I have no issue buying something online once I know exactly what I want, but when it comes to furniture or clothes, you need to check it out first.

Don't listen to these idiots. Amphora is out of all of their price ranges.
But Ashley is not really a good place to shop. You'd be better off using the internet to zero in on the makes, styles, coverings, and colors you like, then seeing where the goods you like are available locally. If you walk in with something in mind, these "helpful" people can at least lead you to it. Then you can always say, "Oh, it's not as nice as it looked online." and walk out on them with no questions asked.

So it is their job to spend a ton of money setting up a showroom where you can test everything out before you go and buy it from someone else? If you intend to go cheap and buy it on line, look at the hassle of dealing with a pushy salesman as the cost you pay in return for a free "test drive".

Please enlighten us poor people to what a "real" furniture store is.

What, so you pond scum can come shoplift while I contemplate fabric choices over a bottle of champagne?
I buy furniture mostly on Amazon. It is fast and convenient. There are often sales. Also, it is safer to do shopping online today. Speaking about making the choice, I like looking through the reviews. Usually, they include all the necessary info I need. It is easy to compare the most popular brands, models and prices. The last item I bought was a power lift recliner, and the review on https://thebestreclinersreviews.com/best-power-lift-recliners/ helped me a lot.
I do not understand the reason for such actions on the part of any business. We live in the year 2021. And most of our purchases are made online. What is the problem with specifying product prices in the catalog? You know what, I advise you to pay attention to this website of a furniture store with great dining chairs. Well, they don't just produce chairs, but I think that's their best position. And all the prices are listed on the website, so you don't have to go anywhere to look at them.
