Even your own description takes liberty with the truth. e.g., Despite that what you may have copied, no, he didn't invent the 'modern saddle.' He did not file a patent for the 'modern saddle.' His invention was specific to a particular design and placement of springs within a saddle and stirrups. He did not even claim as original the use of springs more generally in a saddle:
"I am aware that prior to my invention spring-seat saddles and stirrup-springs have been made. Therefore I do not claim, broadly, the invention of springs for seat or stirrups."
