Caught doing 145 in school zone
Posted by: Justin ()
Date: April 27, 2006 10:39PM

I was going down Braddock Road today and I was in my dad's M5. I got caught doing 145 right when I went through the school zone (some private school). The officer took me down to the station and my parents had to come pick me up and I have a court date soon. What should I expect in court? I signed the paper saying I would like to represent myself (no lawyer). Thanks.

Come on, thats 100 over. I'm sorry if I want to hear more details but this sounds like as much bullshit as the 120 in a 40 guy.

Why would you even have to ask what happens? Any judge that doesn't put you in jail should lose their job.

just curious as to your explanation and excuse..not that it matters when that much speed is involved, but it should make for a good laugh when brought up in front of a judge

Dont feed the obvious trolls. On a side note, I was clocked doing 182 in the 7mph zone in the Busch Gardens parking lot. Anybody know what will happen to me?

Indeed, these HS emo idiots need to get back to their homework instead of getting their rocks off by getting ppl to reply to their BS stories on a forum.

Justin, if you had been 30 miles over the speed limit you could probably expect a suspended license and large fine. But since you were exactly 100 miles over the speed limit, you get an exception. There is some really obscure law in the Virginia code that absolves you of all guilt. Lucky you.

Can cars really go 145 mph? I had no idea. I just thought planes went that fast. Gee, and I feel guilty if I am going 65 on the Beltway!!!

Well I got caught doing 110 in a 55mph plus dui. They dropped the speeding charge if I pleaded guilty to the dui and I got 20 days in jail, You only serve half the time so I was in for 10 days. They realease you at 1 minute past midnight on that 10th day. The rule is usally a day in jail for every mph over 90. If you're a juvenile they will probably snatch your license for 18months or more, and get you with a $1000+ fine. I had a lawyer who only cost me $500 and he really fought for me not to go in for more than those 10 days. Goto driving school and do some community service! Good luck Justin

And yes I did survive my trip to Nicaragua! Lots of women and plenty of beer to go around! $1 here is $17.30 there, I partied like a KING

M5's are badass cars, especially for a "sedan". A buddy of mine was busted doing ~105 in a 65MPH zone and he spent a couple days in the can.

Hey Mike22Va post a pic of your girl to see if she was worth your trip to Nicaragua. Although the cheapness of the booze itself might be a good enough reason.

This is obviously bullshit. I don't think there is a stretch of Braddock without lights where you could get up to 140 and stop without hitting someone or some thing.Next time pick I-66 by Front Royal if you want to make up some bullshit story.

I drive 100 MPH every day and have never been caught.

Oh thats right. I live in Germany. The land of fast cars and Autobahns. You can't get your license here until 18 and after 40 hours behind the wheel training. But you can drink at age 16.

145 in a school zone...your lucky to see your license again. I am surprised your dad's M5 was not confiscated and sold at auction!

Say hello to your new roommate...Peaches! "Hey boy, you look pretty cute in those jeans..." Squell like a pig, Opie!

...my friends brother was caught on Pleasant Valley Rd. going towards Rt29 from 50 at speeds greater than 100mph.

I do know he spent 1 day in jail for every mph over 100 and lost his license for 1 year.

He was 18 or 19 at the time and driving his fathers Mustang, racing another car...

If your post if for real, you will need a lawyer - any less, and you will be sure to spend time in jail, regardless what is said in court by either party.

Got caught doing 123 mph in a 55 zone back a few years ago. I voluntarily took ASAP or some kind of BS driving improvement class. I also acquired Robert Whitestone to represent me in court. I ended up getting sentenced to 123 days in jail, however the judge suspended all of it and I lost my license for 6 months. If I remember correctly, the fine was a couple hundred of dollars.

You need a lawyer and to say your prayers.

Your Dad should go to jail with you for letting you drive his M5.

Oh yeah, and while you're both in jail, your mom will be a whore.

You'd probably get a slap in the hand. I was once going 48 over on a construction zone, and was let off with a verbal warning by a lady trooper.

Somebody's got a death wish. Over 100 on that road?

If you're caught racing as well (Especially at those speeds), your ride is getting impounded.

If I was the cop that pulled him over, I would made it a point to
turn my lights and siren off. Then I would proceed to casually
imform the delinquent how fast he was going. Then I would tell
the kid to slow down and slash his tires before I left.

That is of course if the OP didn't drive a Toyota Tercel, and if the
entire story wasn't pure bullshit.

about 12 years ago I was in traffic court and some guys case was called up. The guy looked like he was in his mid 50's. The judge was looking through his papers and said sir you have been charged with reckless driving going (paused for a second, gasped and yelled) 154 mph on the toll road!!! His defense was that he just bought a new benz, it was 2 in the morning and no one was on the road and his passanger wanted to see how fast the car would go. To make a even longer story short he got 45 days in the can.
