WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police say a woman assaulted officers who arrested her for trespassing at a Wegman's.
Police responded to the Wegman's located at 14801 Dining Way in Woodbridge for the report of a trespassing where they found 33-year-old Evern Chiquita Sharpe of Woodbridge inside the store.
Officials say Sharpe provided false information about her identification to police and lunged towards and kicked officers who were attempting to search her belongings.
She was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a LEO, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, false identification to a LEO, disorderly conduct and trespass.
When officers were escorting Sharpe out of the building, police say one of her acquaintances approached the officers from behind and tried to separate Sharpe. At one point, the man, later identified as 28-year-old Abdul Karin Conteh of Woodbridge, struck an officer in the face, according to officials.
Coteh has been charged with two counts of assault and battery on a LEO, obstruction of justice, aiding in the escape of a prisoner and disorderly conduct.
Both Sharpe and Conteh are being held without bond.
