No dipshit, YOU'RE wrong. I can name many talented and successful musicians that were in the high school marching band and are making a living making music today.

Oh, you were in band in 5th grade? Well then, you must be an expert on the subject! LOL.Just because you made a pathetic attempt at music in the 5th and 6th grade and quit, shows you don't really know what you're talking about. Other than you realized that you sucked and didn't have any talent. I commend you on that realization and for not putting us musicians through any more torture of listening to you than we had to.

You CAN be great and be in the high school marching band. Stay out of the way and let the musicians play, son. Give people that go out and accomplish something instead of quitting some credit.

Yep, no doubt about it the Marine Corps Band is the best of the service bands, and I was in the Army Band! And, yes military bands do march in ceremonies, but they don't do ridiculous half time shows. And, I know that to a man or woman, real musicians would prefer to perform in an auditorium or other appropriate venue, for the acoustics, if no other reason.

The Marine Corps also has the Silent Drill Team, which most services do as well. And they are probably the best at that, so if you want a drill team then have a drill team. But to equate musical performance with marching is simply untenable.

Now, high shcools not only have the marching band, they the flag team, the purpose of which completely baffles me.

I recall performing at some sort of international music festibal in Switzerland, many years ago. There were representatives from all the NATO countries. Well, the Italians did one better, they didn't march, they ran! And the sounds was horrible, which illustrates that it's difficult enough to play a musical instrument well without all the movement of marching but when you add that the quality of the sound suffers significantly.

Aha! I guess the Coach is using this petty chat page to "Retaliate" haha sweetie don't even try because your team sucks anyways. May just have some random fan from the crowd coach your team! Those poor kids have to deal with sucking though they have so much potential.
