Brian, all of the posts above are full of sarcasm. Hopefully people have thick skin and do not take these posts seriously. They are just plain funny.

We're holding a mass meeting in August.

No idea who the nominee will be yet, but Bill Cooper has told me he's not interested, so I don't know who else is out there.

Who said he is running? The Reps will hold the caucus on August 13 to determine its nominee. It’s only rumored that Cooper will seek the nomination.

Bill is not seeking the nomination. At least - he wasn't when I talked to him three weeks ago. Unless that has changed, he's not running. And nobody has told me otherwise, including at the FCRC meeting last Tuesday.

Bill would easily get the nomination if he chose to run, but there is no reason for him to tell anybody he's not running if he actually is. In fact, he should be asking all of us for money starting immediately if he is. He hasn't done that.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But I don't think I'm wrong.

Three weeks ago no one could predict Kincaid will defeat Sites. Sites would be a strong opponent to beat. The game is different with Stacey. Cooper had only lost 8% last time…considering he run against the incumbent sheriff, Bill did good. So, I think Cooper has a great chance to win this time. If he has no intention to run , who the Republican candidate is gonna be then?

Then, the fall elections is just behind the corner. One word has not been spread yet on who is going to be another Rep. nominee. Cooper is already well known to public + he has an experience to run the campaign.
It’s hard to believe he just don’t wanna win the game. If he indeed is not running, Republicans are in trouble.

Cooper has baggage. He ain't that smart and he's a womanizer. His wife is still pissed at him for his past affair(s).

The difference last time is that Bill was running on a countywide ballot that didn't have any other really contested countywide races. We didn't run anybody for Commonwealth's Attorney and the Board of Supervisor Chairman race wasn't as competitive as we wanted it to be. There were no other county wide races to drive turnout.

This year, Bill would be running alongside Cuccinelli, Jackson and Obenshain. Turnout is necessarily going to be higher, and that usually favors the Democrats countywide. Bill would get a ton more votes than last time, but he would likely still lose, just on the partisan vote. Nobody is going to really be paying attention to the Sheriff's race with the three statewides on there.

I know that someone has been making the rounds about running for Sheriff as a Republican, but I haven't met him yet.

Only 35 Republicans appear to have voted at the July 23 FCDC caucus for Sheriff. Probably all sheriffs deputies who came out to vote for Sites.

Didn't make a difference in the result.

FCRC chair has requested their names so that they can be banned from its caucus to chose sheriff.

Anyone who didn't have their head up their ass could have seen Kincaid winning as soon as she announced.

Stan had tried to rig the choice for Sites: not announcing his planned retirement until it was too late to have a primary; getting Sites to join FCDC after no involvement in party activities during sktes lifetime; designating Sites as the senior Deputy in April '13 when Bill Loan had seniority in the department and in rank. Stan made no effort to stay in touch with FCDC leadership and was not well thought of by rank and file members of FCDC.

Dems don't like coronations by pols who barely act like Dems.

It became an "Anybody but Stan's Man" situation immediately.

Add to that the strong support of the women within FCDC for the first woman sheriff and it was all over but the sweating in the corridor waiting to vote at Woodson.

So, Kincaid looked through the whole Sheriff's Office and at everyone available outside the agency for a new Chief Deputy and she found………. her best friend and campaign supporter Kevin Andarese was the most qualified for the position. Wow! What a coincidence, who would have thought.

Maybe Kincaid was asleep when Barry tried that lame shit. To refresh your memory he appointed his two pals as Chief Deputies and they sucked so bad and caused so much damage that he had to fire one and demote the other.

Chief Deputies can do huge damage to the sheriff's department. Just think back… Walt Lilly, Jim Vickery, Paul Malt, Roger Frazier.

This is fucking ridiculous. Kincaid spends her whole campaign talking about increasing diversity in the Command Staff and specifically says that there are too many white males. The two positions in the agency that she can hire any one she wants with no review by civil service is the Chief Deputies. So she asks Sites to stay on as Chief Deputy who is the white male she beat in the primary by saying she needed to increase diversity. Now she hires her buddy Kevin as the second Chief Deputy and he is, wait for it…. another white male.

What a bunch of bullshit. No Captains or Lieutenants in the agency of color that were qualified? No females in the agency that were qualified? Not according to Kincaid, now that she is Sheriff, white males are just fine.
