Having Diane Rehm host a radio show is like having a victim of burns and gunshot wounds to the face as a news anchor on TV. It's sad, but why would you do that and distract your audience?

She doesn't have a speech impediment. Her voice was fine for the first several decades she was in radio. She developed spasmodic dysphonia and just about lost her voice. Her voice only functions now with botox injections to her vocal chords periodically. Everyone complaining about her evidently listens to her, so she must be doing something right.
She should be doing voiceovers for horror movies, not hosting a news-oriented radio program. When I hear her voice, it sends a chill up my spine and I immediately change stations.

Uh huh, as long as it's from a die-hard bleeding-heart liberal perspective anyway. lol No doubt that she believe's it's true anyway.
She's OK and often has an interesting show, but nobody's going to accuse her or most of the regular commentators of being objective.
Diane made it known on July 3 that she thinks that Civil War renactments are ridiculous and should never be allowed on public property (also, it makes kids think that war is just about guns).
I listen to her for a good laugh now and then.
My all-time favorite moment was when she hosted atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair (probably 20-25 years ago on), and, when prodded by Diane about whether there is anything in life that gives Ms. Murray O'Hair enjoyment, she responded "Well, I enjoy my bowel movements."
she has a pretty good show. unfortunately, she plays the "balance" trick too much. allow the liberal to explain his side, allow the conservative to explain his side. rarely gets in the middle and calls out somebody when they're blatantly lying.
media has largely abdicated its historical role of calling balls & strikes. they've morphed into the guy selling beer & popcorn. one reason for the dumbing down of america.
Most shows on this station are heavily leftwing biased. They regularly give several minutes to air the lib perspective, and none for the counter arguments of GOP. It's annoying.

Is that what faux news told you? I listen to PBS on my morning and evening commutes. They provide views from both the liberal and conservative perspective. Great station. I guess your problem is they don't limit information to only the "conservative" idiom. That said, the few times I've been in the car when Diane Rehm show is on, I immediately turn the channel. That voice is so annoying!

Bullshit. Anyone who can't figure out that NPR (not PBS) leans significantly left is either in denial or an idiot. And anyone who uses the term faux news likely is both. No, I'm not a Dittohead, or a Rushtard, or whatever other characterization you'd like to try to make. I sit fairly squarely in the center. Probably a little more to the left on most issues. I'm not going to pretend that bias doesn't exist there as much as it does most elsewhere these days.
NPR was more centered in the past and tended to stay away from political intrusions into news stories but they've developed much more of a point of view in more recent years.

I don't listen to her. Ever since she had her problem I find her unlistenable. Sorry. She's no Damien Einstein. Thank God for WCSP because that's where I go when her show comes on. In 1992 she was making $50,000 a year. I know because I saw her personnel file.
