UPDATE – Homicide Suspect Returned to Fairfax
On Friday, November 7, Santo Ortez Sheffey was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Sheffey fought extradition and was returned on a Governor’s warrant.

UPDATE-Homicide Suspect Arrested
Fairfax County Detectives assigned to the Fugitive Unit, along with United States Marshals and Metropolitan D.C. police officers, located and apprehended Santo Ortez Sheffey. The arrest occurred in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, in Southeast D.C. on Friday, September 5 around 5 p.m. Sheffey is still in Washington, D.C. awaiting extradition back to Virginia.

UPDATE-Homicide Suspect Identified
The investigation into this homicide has resulted in detectives obtaining an arrest warrant charging Santo Ortez Sheffey, 49, of no fixed address, with the murder of Sharon Harvin. The victim’s 2006 Kia was located in the 2500 block of Shirlington Road in Arlington County last night. Police believe that Harvin and Sheffey were known to each other prior to the murder, but do not know the nature of their relationship. Detectives also believe Sheffey has ties to Arlington, Prince William and Fairfax Counties, as well as to Washington, D.C. Police are again asking anyone with information regarding Sheffey’s whereabouts, to contact the Fairfax County Police Department using the information provided below.

Update – Missing Car
Detectives are searching for a car that is missing from the homicide scene at 6200 Indian Run Parkway. The vehicle is a 2006 Kia Amanti, dark blue with 4 doors and Virginia license XXL-3265. There is damage to the driver side mirror, the lower side of the driver’s door and the driver side rear quarter panel.

Homicide in Annandale
A woman was found dead in the 6200 block of Indian Run Parkway on Monday, September 1 at approximately 11:45 p.m. The victim, 46-year-old Sharon Harvin, was found deceased in the home by a family member.
Officers and detectives responded to investigate. It is apparent the victim sustained trauma to the upper body. An autopsy is being performed to confirm the cause of the death. The case is still under investigation. This is the 11th homicide in Fairfax County this year.
