What happens if I plea not guilty? I don't want to pay the ticket without going to court

If you dont plead guilty, you will have to go to trial. You'll stand in front of the judge with the officer. The judge will ask the cop what happened. The cop will say "at such time, at such place I observed such vehicle travel at X speed in Y speed limit area". Then it will be your turn to tell the judge why you arent guilty. You can argue radar, or lidar or pace or anything. But the cop will provide evidence and/or testimony that you were in fact speeding. You will be found guilty and you'll pay twice the fine and court costs.

You were speeding (also known as breaking the law) and the ticketing officer is the asshole for doing his job? Grow up, Crybaby

Nothing is going to happen in court because you aren't going to court. You are going to pay your ticket and move on.
If you have to go to court for going 10 over, then you aren't telling us the whole story.

Actually you can contest any traffic violation. But this would be a waste of time. If he throws himself at the mercy of the Court and he has a good driving record they might give him Driver Improvement School which is almost as bad as going to jail for a day. But you still pay Court costs and the class is like $75 and you waste an entire Saturday. Just went thru that!

Teehee, you dumbfuck. A more well-deserved ticket I cannot imagine.

This is how stupid our world has become. You were driving 10mph OVER the speed limit, yet you're upset you got caught speeding.

10 is generally the magic number if you stay within 5 almost no one wastes time trying to write tickets for that.

An officer is more likely to be killed in the LOD when doing a traffic stop and some idiot doing 10 miles over the speed limit and not paying attention hits him as he stands on the shoulder gathering information. You may have noticed (if anyone pays attention) that many officers conduct their traffic stops from the passenger side of the stopped car.
And every officer seems to have his range of tolerance for when he or she will write a ticket.
