the japs have sat on their ass too they are still using MIDI from 1980's. the upshot is you cannot plug an $88 88 key keyboard into the $500 korg because, despite modern usb connection, the "delays" would be intollerable, and compatibility (auto detection of plug in and use) would likely also "not be there". but that is part of their business: push you into buying something more expensive

^^ i once had a shallow depression, no shingle damage or problem, on a roof that drove me crazy - it was after a 2.5' snowfall. it was there but no big branch dropped on it. so i go in attack with bright light looking for plywood bending or cracked support beam. i could find nothing at all which explained the very shall but still visible sag.

my 2001 pickpup has a porche 911 suspension - absolutely literally and completely. i don't like it - it means i can't jack up my truck for snow and it doesn't help me get grocery or haul stone even a little. their are many layers of bullshit on today's economy from years of fraud people don't realize.

so i remmebered a song from 30 years ago that was my teachers song - well really just the main chorus. very happy i remembered it so long after.
after i learned it - a week or two later next lesson - he played along lead but i was maybe too dim to realize the point was i should be listening to the lead as he was a musician. anyway he had to scold me for "stoping and restarting from the beginning" whenever i made a mistake. the particular song was taught because it forces good use of finding correct fingering transitions which the chorus requires at least a few of. (he was an orchestra violinist and lutherian also not just a rock guitarist - so his solo was not just some rock riff)
i wasn't the best student i'm not sure he really liked me. about 8 yr after i stopped lessons, i met him in a mc'donalds - he was sitting with a friend - and he said it was not appropriate to approach him outside of lessons and not to do it again. it seemed odd to me - i mean i wasn't drunk or disheveled and neither was he. i couldn't imagine a reason for the shirking when i merely stopped to say hello how are you teacher.
but still: he's my only and favorite guitar teacher. i always have good memories of the lessons.

i have done some extra credit research on this by spying on my neighbor's house
i was right. roofers may (not all do - mine didn't) feather in extra shingles on top of the new shingles in arease near gutter where leaves pile up - for extra protection. they will not totally hide they've done it, as seen in the photo above. my neighbors looks more "just tucked in" than does the one above (uncut shingles crossing over and tucked in)
also notice in the photo above
mine looks like this
my neighbor's has cross pieces on tucked under as a 2nd layer only where the leaf pile-up line is - which is obviously intentional
our "roof conniseur" here says everything must be straight line or fails
AND I SAY - show me the leak pics - i don't believe the original meme is "bad because it isn't straight line"

JULIO has saved himself from trimming several tiles by, instead of cutting short and putting the straight edge in the valley - he's BENT THEM OVER THE VALLEY 2" to meet the other shingles, saving up to several shingles pieces.
it doesn't leak it's been 20 yrs

so a little more sociology - ON YOUTUBE - DEMOCRATS are a bit vicious while pretending to be "instructing others"
* guy pretending to instruct. sets 24' ladder in truck bed. wrong angle. does not extend latter more than few inches past gutter. all of these are preschool 1,2,3 things the instructions right on the side of the ladder say not to do. he's a lying asshole. but why does he make a video just to show he's a lying dickhead?
* the guy who shows loose set stone capped garden retaining wall - puts his latter at a thin angle. says, "yea i really like these they help hold the ladder", setting ladder on ground before them. he's lying says the opposite of the truth, but why is he lying?

when i was a kid (there were mean kids who'd dare you to do things and keep asking continually something that'd definitely make you dead)
when i was a kid the older guys taught you to keep yourself safe don't trust anyone or anything. (i got caught, short fall off an old ladder thought i could lightfoot and was wrong the old ladder cracked in half. i got up - after a while)
but still - we didn't have instructions on ladders. if you were doing something "high and not safe"
WHAT WAS EXPECTED IS BEFORE YOU DID THAT and older guy with 1/2 grey hair would look on you and tell you if you were doing something stupid. you didn't do really high stuff without asking an elder. (or really hot stuff, or fire, or pressure tank whatever it was that was more dangerous than usual).
