I thought everybody posting here said this show was the biggest ripoff and don't go. You're better off buying at a local gun store.

Definitely depends on what you are looking for. Also depends on when you go. If you go Friday, there are cheaper prices as people are looking to boost sales for a slow start. I got a nice new M1A with match sights for just under MSRP last time. No block buster savings, but not a ripoff, either.

Neither Adam Lanza, Cho sung Hui, the redheaded ass in Co or The Navy Yard shooter bought guns at gun shows, Nor did the latest winey lib sack of shit that killed 3 with a pistol and 3 with his knife.

5 million belong to the NRA, theres at least 125 million that own guns that dont. So much for your knowledge drone.

LOL! Give it a rest, you stupid goober. 125 million people are at risk not because they own a gun, but because they live in a household where someone owns a gun. That would be about 30% of US households, a number that has been falling now for decades. Word is getting around, asshole.

Right. They got their guns in full compliance with current laws. Plenty of reason to pass tighter laws.

Having a gun in the home significantly increases the chances that you will be accidentally shot, and the chances that you will be deliberately shot, either by yourself or by others. Especially if you are a woman. Using or trying to use a gun under the extremely rare circumstance of confronting an armed intruder in your home also increases your chances of dying or being grievously wounded in the event. Guns are a lose-lose proposition -- except in the minds of goobers and child-like Clint Eastwood wannabes who are off-the-charts drunk on testosterone.

Yeah, elephant stampedes are a big concern too. In either case though, I'd be getting out of dodge in one piece and reporting the problem to authorities. Next morning, I'll be sitting around sipping coffee while reviewing things with my insurance dude. And he'll be telling me about this deceased jackass over in your neck of the woods who tried to play hero and got himself pancaked by a pachyderm. Ignorant dead-meat loser!

Teehee. The only good deal you'll find at these gun shows are calories from fat and sugar. For just a couple bucks you can easily put down 1000 calories.

It is estimated that each gun show attendee consumes an average of 38,161 calories. During the 3-day show, a total of approximately 23 tons of weight is gained by the attendees.

Nothing can bring thousands upon thousands of white, middle-aged, balding male fatties together like empty calories. :-)

They do appear to be losers at first glance but these men are really victims. Something went wrong during their childhood years. Some are victims of neglect some are victims of physical, mental or sexual abuse. These men have a deep feeling of insecurity and despair that they are trying to compensate for with their little guns and bullets.
The saddest thing about all this is that the guns are merely a temporary fix and not only does their pain continue but their pain gets worse in the long run because of the guns. It's a vicious circle that most of these gun people will never escape from.

Or, they simply feel like less of a man without a gun. Women and, gasp, foreigners are increasingly in power positions across America and white middle-aged men are overwhelmed with thoughts of insecurity and inferiority.

Perhaps when purchasing a firearm, they are subconsciously choosing the means of their own future self-inflicted death.

Most men own guns out of fear but I think there is some truth to the idea that having a gun nearby provides an "escape hatch" to leave this world when things get too tough.
Every single day roughly 50 Americans blow themselves away with a gun. Most of them are men. It is of course the cowards way out in most cases.

I attended the Chantilly show earlier this year. Seems to visit the expo center several times a year.

I've gone to gun shows throughout my life; I grew up around guns; I own about a dozen -- rifles, shotguns, and handguns. I do not belong to the NRA though I have visited their museum in Fairfax. I've shot just about everything from a .50 Barrett on down to my .17 Taurus.

However, I left the this year's show after about 30 minutes. Crowds were clustered around assault rifles and semi-auto pistols, especially small, concealable .380s. Conversations I overheard seemed focused on ways to skirt laws, friends who got busted for skirting laws, "stopping power," home defense, and legal liability "...can I shoot them when they step on my porch". Apparently a lot of people consider themselves to be in imminent danger of home invasion. Many sellers seemed to feed this fear - its good for business.

But its not the business I am interested in. Whereas I would defend myself and my family in whatever way I could should the need arise, I normally don't live fear and I typically avoid going places that would place me in harm's way.

Many of us grew up in a "gun culture" but the gun culture of today is different and alarming.

So is the America you grew up in dumbass. Things change. Unfortunately, the USA is slipping into a abyss. Uninformed shitheads like you are part of the reason why.

There are signs that say DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS. The likes of NRA and GOA do it anyway, and what they feed the goobers is absolute rotgut slop like the above. Guns bring death and mayhem. These are all that guns are actually good for. They increase risk and reduce security. And the more of them that are around, the worse conditions get.

Stupid ignorant dumbfuck as always. Is there ANYTHING that you actually understand? Having a gun in the home increases the chances that you will be accidentally shot and killed. It also increases the chances that you will be deliberately shot and killed, either by yourself or by someone else, that someone else almost always being a friend of family member. But the stupid fucktard yahoos and goobers are incapable of intelligent thought, and instead wallow like tiny salamanders in the slime of NRA emotional nonsense that is not in any way connected to or associated with the simple facts of the matter. Way to go, you stupid asshole!

LOL. Like you know anyone sensible.

30,000 dead? There are 300M guns in the us.

34,000 people died in automobile deaths and there are 254M automobiles in the U.S.

Do the math. Automobiles kill more people than firearms. How come you aren't bitching about them, lil bitch?

Besides, half of that 30,000 includes suicides.

If you don't like guns, repeal the second amendment.

Over 75 comments about how bad guns are, NRA bad, Shutdown loopholes and NOT ONE about the mental illness which has caused many of these mass tragedies. You libratards just don't get it - guns don't kill the idiots behind them who own them do. Once you figure that out it all makes sense - yet you refused to compromise like Obama, trading 5 high value enemies for one deserter.

I am delighted to hear that -- in the interests of public safety and saving lives -- you are at last willing to subject firearms to the same sort of rigorous controls and limits that liberal crusaders have brought into existence for automobiles. Except of course that you aren't willing to do that, having simply been too fucking stupid to realize what you were saying. Just another goober asshole.

And thanks in large part to those laws and limits, even with m+ore drivers and more cars on the road, the number of automobile deaths has been falling for many years. Gun deaths would have passed them by now, except for the recently shrinking popularity of gun ownership having halted (at least temporarily) what had been ever increasing rates of senseless carnage.

Automobiles of course serve a host of very useful personal and social purposes. I'm sure I don't need to list them. All guns do is increase the chances that the owner will be killed by one. That's it. There are of course lots of anti-social purposes to which guns are put every day, but no actually useful or beneficial ones. The average gun-owner meanwhile owns about five guns. And while there are a few collectors out there, the average car-owner still owns about one car. Gun-nuts are frantic delusional paranoids in service to an unjustifiable obsession that benefits only gun manufacturers and the NRA. Congratulations, sucker, you've been played!

> Besides, half of that 30,000 includes suicides.

Did you not understand the fact that a successful suicide involves a death? Fucking goobers are fucking hopeless! One of the problems with guns is that they are very efficient with regard to instant killing. They make the impulsive act of a suicide attempt so much more likely to succeed. Mindless braindead dumbfucks somehow can't comprehend this. It's like blowing THEIR brains out might not actually be fatal.

> If you don't like guns, repeal the second amendment.

It's an amendment, asshole, not a commandment. And while its history and meaning are woefully misunderstood by virtually every still-living gun-nut, it has nothing to do with 30,000 people being killed each year by guns or the further 150,000 being wounded, at least half of them so seriously that they require (very expensive) attention and treatment at hospital emergency rooms followed by typically long and painful periods of recovery.

Per Heller and McDonald by the way, the 2nd Amendment conveys only a very narrow personal right to keep a gun for traditionally lawful purposes such as self-defense within the home. That's it.

Guns have safeties and trigger locks are available on all firearms. People don't use them. FYI, people don't use seat belts either, Einstein. Did you work this hard to get this stupid, or did it just come naturally?

Again, there are more guns than cars, yet fewer deaths from guns than cars. Also, how many automobile deaths are suicide? Take those out and automobiles are more than twice as lethal as guns. The bile between your ears can certainly compute that number.

Come on, you partisan total dumbfuck. This is just recent NRA spin on the age-old and sub-moronic claim that guns don't kill people, people do. It's a total red herring. Facts are that people do NOT kill people. People with fucking guns kill people. It's the guns that make all this killing possible. But better to shed those crocodile tears over the supposedly sorry state of mental health care than allow a single thought over the abysmally sorry state of fucking gun control in this country. The nation with the most guns has the most killing. The areas of that country that have the most guns have the most killing. By a lot. None of this is a coincidence.

Another fun fact - 19,000 of the 30,000 dead by gun were self inflicted suicides. Partisan hacks like yourself probably use solar panels on the roof, only eat organic while using coal fired electricity to power your home?

They don't like to deal with facts because the facts aren't really on their side. That's why they always try to keep to the contrived talking points, deceptively manipulated stats, obscured details and sins of omission, and emotional appeals which are continually dragged out by ideologues and newbs who have bought into the bullshit. Once you start digging down into the details and realities of what actually underlies the vast majority of 'gun violence,' their arguments break down. They don't want to go there.

Which school or mall shooting was perpetrated with a firearm purchased via the gun show loophole?

Your kid probably has already been in a gun owners home. Most gun owners don't advertise it with a billboard on their front lawn.

That's reassuring, dumbfuck. Tells us a lot about gun-owners. For one thing, that they are too freaking afraid of goblins and boogeymen to store their weapons safely. What do we do to motorists for example who recklessly endanger others? Oh yeah...jail time.

No, I've had to put no effort at all into being so very much smarter than you are. Nothing to boast of there, of course. Total fucktards just aren't much of a challenge at all. As for seat belts and airbags, as only total dumbfucks could fail to know, they save many thousands of lives every year. And they were originally and stridently opposed by manufacturers and their right-wing assfuck supporters. Pretty surprising, huh. Stupid shit.

> Again, there are more guns than cars, yet fewer

So what? Sensible people fight to reduce the number of deaths from both. You don't. What would explain that, I wonder. Oh wait...you're an ignorant fucking asshole. That would explain it alright.

> Also, how many automobile deaths are suicide?

No one knows. Not even Gary Kleck. Stupid moron fucktard.

> Status? Speed?

Effective personal and public transportation, you mindless goober asswipe. The economy and society heavily depend on these. They don't depend on fucking guns at all. Major economies all over the world get by quite well with virtually no guns at all. They all have cars though.

> Should automobiles capable of going over
> 80 mph be allowed to be sold to the public?

What if Godzilla attacks? Or zombies? Ignorant fucking asshole. To be able to operate smoothly and efficiently at a speed-limit pace, cars need to be capable of more than that. Only yahoo asshats of the type you no doubt regularly associate with actually try to run a car up to its max speed or rpm. That's a gooberism, Floyd.

> Or provide food or self defense, etc.

Food. Right. Not a colossal dumbfuck or anything, are you. And self-defense against what? This isn't the barren wastelands of fucking Wyoming we are talking about here. And as we know from one study after another, having a gun in the home increases risk rather than reducing it, and brandishing any weapon in the face of an armed intruder in your home is the absolute worst play one can make. Mindless fucktards of course prefer to die on the spot than live to submit an insurance claim. This is only one of many reasons why they are laughable total assholes

Bloomberg? Kiss my superior ass, you ignorant mealy-mouthed goober.

Wow! You are so totally fucked up over guns that you will actually argue in favor of more suicides. What a thoroughly despicable anti-social fucktard.

> Wow, you do whine like a lil bitch a lot.

And pathetic moron dumbfucks like you have nothing but childish goober bullshit to offer in response. You assholes have no understanding at all of the 2nd Amendment or its history. These are just more entries in the very very long list of things that you mindless asshats are totally clueless about.

Who has suggested anything other than living with it, you totally baffled asshole? You battle against imaginary spirits and demons that in fact have no worldly form, shape, of existence. Delusional dumbass fucktards do that sort of thing. Just sayin, asshole.

Non sequitur, you mindless goober dumbfuck. It is not necessary to combat only one cause of avoidable death at a time. Cars and actual poisons have in fact been simultaneously controlled and regulated to that very end for many years. It is illegal now to manufacture various examples of either one. Goobers still hate smart-guns though. Can't have any of that sort of technology going on!

No, it is just like motorists that refuse to use seatbelts or air bags. Some people do, some people don't. Oh, and FYI, people who recklessly endanger others with a firearm get jail time too, SFB.

Do you have a point? If so, you suck at making it.

Take a guess, you were just telling us how smart you are....

Effective transportation requires that personal automobiles capable of 150+ MPH be made available to the general public?

The economy and society heavily depend on 2 seater sports cars that are nothing more than vanity items?

Name one major economy with virtually no guns.

Oh, now we are talking about when Godzilla attacks. You truly are an imbecile. Just shoot him.

No, talking about when Godzilla attacks is gooberism, Ernest T.

What are insurance claims paying for rape these days?

Where did I advocate for more suicides? Be specific.

Again, live with it or repeal it, but stop pretending you have this uber-understanding of something you love to hate.

Just sayin'? More like just spewin' bullshit.

Poor retarded asshole has been tagged yet again. It isn't me, you mindless Liberty & Freedom dumbfuck. Societies the world over discourage all forms of avoidable death, suicide being a principal target of those efforts. You want to defend and encourage suicide, expanding opportunities for it and making the most effective means of it more widely available. How totally fucked up is that, you pathetic piece-of-shit whacked-out anti-social gun-tard?
