Does anyone know anything about a road being built by Backlick Rd. over off of Route 1 near the Ft. Belvoir Tailor, Burger King, Canterbury Square, Accotink United Methodist Church? I heard at least one home will be demolished out of eminent domain, and through the grapevine, I heard the whole neighborhood might be as well?

Does anybody remember a junkyard that used to be off of 235, or Mt. Vernon Hwy., on the left side just before getting to Mount Vernon? Neighbors that lived nearby starting in the mid 1960's remember it, but the area it is said to be in is covered in trees and vines, etc.. I am a local history buff focusing on the Mt. Vernon area, Route 1 Corridor, and South Alexandria in general, and would be cur
