Delete the files on disk, write all zeros. Throw it in the trash. A simple linux live CD/USB boot image will do this for you.
All this smashing, drilling, melting drives crap is just that, crap. Anyone care to cite any documented case or available technology to magically recover overwritten data on a disk drive? Good luck.
