Nice rundown again SK2. You've been doing it now for at least 4 years now I think - thanks! I was actually at the Westfield-Stone Bridge game this week and really, the turning point of the game came on Stone Bridge’s first drive. Westfield’s opening drive of the game ended after a lone first down and Westfield punter #5 Brian Delaney pinned Stone Bridge inside their own 5 yard line with a mons

A very nice win by SoCo. They've been a long time coming but that was a solid all-around good team. That being said, I expect Lake Braddock will likely be the favorite for 6A North at this point. We

Very cool. I found one of those in my basement a few years ago. Took it outside before I told the wife about it. http://www.virginiaherpetologicalsociety.com/reptiles/snakes/common-ribbonsnake/common_ribbonsnake.php

Because of the Redskins contribution to their new turf field I went to the Park View (Sterling) vs. Manassas Park game last week. http://www.wusa9.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/08/28/skins-donation-supports-park-views-new-field/71311934/ It was a fun evening – for those who remember - Park View was once a fairly strong small school football program: District Champions: 1978, 1980, 1891, 19

Westfield Head Coach Kyle Simmons had a pretty matter-of-fact briefing. They have a lot coming back on defense. He seemed happy with their linebacker situation mentioning 5 veteran LB led by Navy commit Jack Clancy. The big challenge will be on offense where they lost starting 4 OL, QB, WR, TE, RB. As always they will just be looking for younger guys to step up. Mentioned one of their bett

There are over 14,000 high school football teams in the United States. Over a million kids will play high school football this year. It is a proud tradition in the US. Below is a photo of the 1925 Dixon (IL) high school football team. Future president Ronald Reagan is in the bottom row second from right.

Another 2015 pre-season ranking - this one is more like it. Still would put OS in 2, but Centreville is where they should be. 1. Ocean Lakes 2. Westfield 3. Oscar Smith 4. Centreville 5. Lake Braddock 6. Battlefield 7. C.D. Hylton 8. South County 9. Colonial Forge 10. Manchester http://www.vhsl-reference.com/ratingsmainpage_gy.cfm?GY=2015&DIVISION=6

An early early 6A (North/South combined) rankings: 1. Ocean Lakes 2. Westfield 3. Lake Braddock 4. Oscar Smith 5. South County 6. C.D. Hylton 7. Colonial Forge 8. Centreville 9. Patriot 10. Manchester My own opinion is that Centreville and Lake Braddock should be switched. Patriot not a top 10 team in the state. OL and OS probably should be 1-2... https://virginiapreps.rivals.com/viewrankhs.

Sure... why not? Overcrowding and bad traffic is not going to go away. Probably will just slowly continue to get worse. But if you have lived here for 12 years you know what it's like. So you can decide for yourself. There are drawbacks to living pretty much anywhere. I have lived in NOVA for over 25 years and raised (almost) my family here and I have no major complaints. If you work close

This is one of the few remaining abandoned segments of the old route of Braddock Road through Centreville. It will no doubt be obliterated by the new I66/R28 interchange in a few years.

That is an odd question. The majority of homeschoolers teach their own kids. That's sort of the idea behind HOME schooling. If you can afford a full-time private tutor you might as well send your kid to private school. Home schooling is not cheap by the way, we home-schooled one of our kids for a few years and it cost quite a bit of $$$$.
