Absolutely nothing. The entire building is empty. Cafeteria equipment shipped off...basically anything not nailed down (and even stuff that was) is all gone. If anyone wanted to use the building for anything now they would have to completely refurnish it. Oh and if it is used for bus parking, you couldn't place more than about a dozen buses in the actual parking lot. Perhaps more along the d

She talks about parking in that note? Hey Liz, here is a news flash...ever driven by Fairview on a day where many parents visit the school? They park along 123 and Burke Center Parkway and walk to the school. These are 4 lane divided highways with speed limits of 40 mph or higher. Don't tell Clifton children they will be safer than they are today exiting their cars at Clifton Elementary. Be

@wow- Please enlighten us all on your racist experience of late. Also 1:5 ratio? Are you kidding me? I think you are very mistaken on that front as nearly all classrooms at Clifton have 32 or more students in them (except for the unusually small first grade which still has almost 30 in each classroom). Please, fill us all in on the information you are working from. I am more than fed up with

@county maintenance: If the school had been slated for closure for years then why did the county go through a process that involved thousands of hours of citizen and FCPS employee time? As I have said before in similar threads, if FCPS has a position and if the School Board supports that position prior to community engagement, don't bother with the community opinion because it clearly doesn't m

@you're right If the same level of "fiscal prudence" was applied to any other action by FCPS I would think many would support it, but the reality is that prudence is not typically applied. Clifton was singled out due to a long-standing personal issue that Liz Bradsher has with the community. You should read her Patch interview on the topic and you will see that she is just as emotional if not

Bradsher is getting her wish for South County and the boundary planning phase is about to kick off with FPAC. First meeting to discuss "overcrowding" in South County is coming May 3 at South County. Wonder how Liz will spin the need here?

Message went out today to Fairview Elementary families from the Principal telling them that Transportation needs more time to get students to the school so their start time at Fairview will be moved back to 9:05 with dismissal at 3:45. Principal's note indicated this is a dramatic change from the current start time. She also indicated in the message that dismissal processes in the afternoon cou

Dr. Dale and School Board Members, You have to change your current allocation of funds to Programs before the Board of Supervisors will ever think of giving you more. Everything can't be a priority. Start with this: 1) Basic educational needs for all students (equitable distribution to all - no more full day K only for some) 2) State and federal mandates (special needs, NCLB, Title 1) Figure
