Self knowledge, the starting point is not easy; it comes often from practice of knowing what is enjoyable and easy and what is not. Knowledge of human psychology for example is a key to on going self discovery.

But it helps to climb on the shoulders of great minds and experts who have earned to respect and confidence through practice and scholarship. A great basketball coach like John Wooten is tested on creating and coaching winning team through practice. Same is true in music and in science.

Relating to this topic, I just discovered a valuable new book in my public library at Fairfax County, Virginia, “Appreciative Intelligence: Seeing The Mighty Oak in the Acorn” by Tojo Thatchenkery and Carol Metzker (BK Books, 2006).

Both authors are affiliated with George Mason University. Important book, has relavance to this topic of "multi-dsicpline Teaming" for Healthier community arts ands science.

Update; Next step forward is to identify enough people interested in constructive networking and virtual teaming to do community service projects
via arts or science focus as we have been discussing.

One good way to do this is to seek endorsement from our elected leaders via some sort of a protocol (that's Fairfax County Board of Supervisors) and also the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce as the largest chamber in Fairfax County.

We could reinstitute the easy to do Saturday Morning "Eat and Talk" breakfast events that we did few years ago at the Old Country Buffet in Fairfax once a month, 9:30 AM_11:30 AM as a helpful protocol going forward.

Here is my new website with 2 other related topics or possiblities if the philosophy of self help and mutual help can be endorsed by participants of this conversation as requested to move things forward.

This local music event organized by two talented singers & songwriters, Michael Ryan & Dan Magnolia was super !

Epicure Cafe's new location is in the same strip shopping mall as the Patel Brother Grocery Store, not next to the Bombay Cafe (Fairfax Walmart).

The owner Guss & Family of Epicure Cafe is a grecious host for these Open Mike events in our GMU Neighborhood.


Attendence was quite good, about 30 or so, persons, could be a little better next time perhaps.
