I was on Google Earth, and checking out where I lived. Their last update was in 2002, and guess what, ALL FOREST. The entire block, and many other places were still not developed yet or even under construction. Today, we slowly see this pace keeping up. There are new homes being created near CVS, they've basically ripped out that strip of forest that used to be down 29, across from Bent Tree Apartments. I'm sure there is development in other places in Centreville, such as near Fair Oaks Mall. What do you think of this? Will any foresty remain, or will Centreville only continue turning into a mega suburb in the forthcoming years?

We do have the benefit of a good park system here in Centreville (and fairfax in general), so I'm not particularly worried about the trees and streams staying around. I am however worried about the historical and archaeological sites we're losing. I wouldn't mind seeing the builders have to pay to have a study done on some of these civil war sites and to have any antiquities excavated. As for the building in general though, it raises home values and with any luck will finance a nice retirement place for my wife and me out in the boondocks.
