Sunset Knolls Torn Down ("The Meadows")

I know everybody thinks that the neighbourhoods across from In and Out Convenience by 29 was call "The Meadows", but that part of the low income housing neighbourhoods were actually called Sunset Knolls. And now they're torn down.

At first, I was happy that the eyesore was gone, and that the library area was finally going to get cleaned up, but now that I think about it... is another upper-middle class suburban neighbourhood what we really need?

There's something like 1,500 homeless in Fairfax County alone, and god knows how many operating under low income. What good did condemning the low income houses do?

I know what you mean. It just seems sad sometimes going by that place and just seeing the horizon. I mean, most relocated near FL shopping center, where they are building cheaper housing, but I guess time will tell in what will come out of that plot of land. I never went close to it, since I thought ms-13 had it has their turf or something.

I never witnessed any of the gang activity, so I can't say for sure, but I know that after the place was condemned it was a pretty popular squat spot. Now it looks like half a million dollar town houses, just like the place over by the Elementary School they just put in.

Equally baffling is why anyone would want to buy a new luxury condo or townhome, knowing that The Knolls is still just a few yards away.

Worse, these houses are literally a stone's throw from the heavily-trafficked St. Germain sidewalk--it's only a matter of time before those shiny new windows are blasted out, just like the old ones were.

Those units were barely passing fire and building codes, and were a hot bed for police activity. Property worth too much for a low income ghetto.

Speaking of the In-n-Out, I wonder how that place will stay in business with those apartments gone. I can tell you for a fact though that the librarians will be happy to not have the centreville library used as a daycare center anymore.

Daycare center and daylaborer center! Hopefully the perverts who expose themselves to library goers were eliminated with the projects too.
