bad car accident near Expo Center this afternoon/evening

My folks were near G Street down by the Expo Center this afternoon/evening and said there was a really bad multi-car accident just before they got there. Flames, fire trucks, ambulance(s), etc. They guessed someone was going too fast on the bridge or wasn't leaving enough room. Did anyone see what happened? I hope everyone got out OK, but it's not sounding good :-<

Where/what is G street? The fabric store on Westfields BLVD?
