Explosion? (gas line?)

Anyone hear a loud, deep explosion yesterday at 11:30 in Compton Village neighborhood? I went outside to check it out & a man walking his dog had stopped to turn around & check it out, but missed him on his way back I guess.
Was distinct sound & the ground shook very briefly.
There was no police activity at all, so not a gas leak.
I can't help but wonder now if it was a lab in someone's basement?
