Whats going on over there?

That is a fine example of what Fairfax County BOS considers to be RC Zoned area - "Residential Conservation" to be developed as a Low Density Residential Area. Since it is in the Occoquan Reservoir Watershed (where our drinking water comes from) the Fairfax County comprehensive plan says that any development in this area should not be of a size scale that will adversely impact the character of the area. Go figure.

yeas a very big KOREAN CHURCH.....there are already 3 churches in that area that the asians have taken over and now they build huge one for themselves

Actually, it's an office complex that got approved by maquarading as a church/school combination. And, they managed to do it by going to the BOS meeting right after the VT shootings and saying they feared "racisim and retribution" might keep the BOS from giving them the necessary WAIVERS to build it. WAIVERS! In other words, anyone else would have been told "no." The whole thing is obscene! And, to top it off, it won't even generate tax revenue b/c it's a "church." Right. Strayer operates a university smaller than that church.

It's a church and school. Considering that they paid over 2.2 million for the public improvements to route 29 and spent 3/4 million in plan preparation and sumbissions to the county, I think they certainly deserve a place to worship. That church may be tax exempt, but the wealth of the 5000 Koreans that attend it isn't. 8 million for the land and over 28 million for the building; all from donated funds. Imagine what kind of taxes those folks generate for Fairfax.

What you need to be concerned about is the Afghan Nation of Northern Virginia and what they plan to do with the property that they own near that church at the corner of Bull Run Post Office Rd. across from Filmdex.

That massive Korean church is only a good thing. People like living close to their place of worship, so property values in Centreville will increase as a result.
