The commentators were saying that the part with the kids dancing in the streets was a depiction of a parent's nightmare. It came complete with the part where your teenage daughter brings home a black guy singing bad rap.
I kept feeling bad for the queen having to sit through this. The poor old lady was kept up way past her bedtime.

Look, here's how it goes...
Long ago the opening ceremonies were simple. People walked in. Cheer USA! USA! USA! Boo the commies. Light the torch. Done.
Then the Olympics turned commercial and they figured out that if they have some long-ass pointless production along with it, then they get an extra 2 hours worth of commercial time to sell. NBC's gotta make back the $1.3 billion they dropped on the broadcast rights somehow so count sitting through it as the cost of admission. lol

Well, at least during the "40 Year Tribute of British Music" there was a Led Zeppelin clip, though "Trampled Underfoot" is not the song I would've chosen. Also, the ceremony closed with Pink Floyd's 'Eclipse' from "Dark Side of the Moon"...
