Spent about a week there when a tree hit my house back in late '09. It was not so bad, kind of like a 70's time machine. The place was chock full of out of town construction workers and tradesmen that were working on the Fairfax hospital renovation-addition that was going on then. The only thing missing from the 70's was the magic fingers machine in the bed.

I'm surprised it's still there! Most everything is gone, re-built or re-named from when I was a kid there. It used to be next to Roy Roger's. It was the expensive hotel when I was a teenager, Anchorage was the cheapy, and I bet it still is.

Im here now. The wifi works great but the TV is a bubble type from the 90's. The room is like a dark hole but the sheets are clean and the water is hot.

All jokes aside, Wolf Trap is the best value in the area if you just want a clean room to get away from everyone for a night. Sure you can pay $30-40 more and go to a Holiday Inn or something, but hey you can use that $40 for a 12 pack and a sammich for dinner. The perfect $100 getaway if you just need some time to get away from the screaming kids and nagging wife...

I am between houses and am living at the wolf trap. It is not so bad here. All the employees are dune coons but they are nice to me. I am going to stay here till May 1st. $309 per week, you cant beat it.

Drove by these upstanding gentlemen on the way back to Fairfax, the motel itself has turned into some sort of shanty town, there was a fucking bonfire in the parking lot behind the hotel and a few groups of people were sitting outside of the motel grilling hotdogs.

Guys who get out of jail go to work release and the next step after that is for two of them to get together and split a room at the wolftrap motel. An employee reported when she attempted to enter a room to clean she discovered the door was locked from the inside. The employee was able to look inside the window and observed an individual lying on the floor. MPO Shaw responded and along with members of the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department it was determined the individual had been deceased. This case is being investigated.

Looks like the developer is getting stopped dead in his tracks. The Town changed the zoning requirements that would require a much smaller building with wider easements from the street.

I saw some workers putting new HVAC units in some of the rooms. Like a whole truckload of HVAC units. They would not be replacing them if the building was getting torn down. Looks like the Wolftrap lives on for now!

I think after the Sunrise Living fiasco, the WAWA drama and numerous pushbacks to the entire MAC process by the citizens of Vienna, the Board has probably put a hold on projects like the one that was slated for the Wolf Trap/Tequila Grande parcels. They had so many projects lined up (Giant shopping center, Library, Marco Polo, Coldwell Banker, Wolf Trap/Tequila Grande, Wade Hampton, Police Station, etc.) I think they themselves didn't know what the hell was going on and certainly weren't able to convey it properly to the residents.

They are still renting rooms. See cars in the lot all the time. I would imagine until the decision to redevelop that corner is made by the Vienna Government, they will continue to try and make some money. Some rooms are boarded up, and it looks like hell. But they are open for business.

They are still renting rooms. See cars in the lot all the time. I would imagine until the decision to redevelop that corner is made by the Vienna Government, they will continue to try and make some money. Some rooms are boarded up, and it looks like hell. But they are open for business.

Saw the fencing up around the entire property including the Mexican restaurant.
Looks like the final chapter has closed for this venerable getaway.
Interesting that the Rodeway motel near Fairfax circle has been sitting closed for months now behind similar fencing.

That happens all the time in the hotel industry. The best hotels get the new stuff and the older stuff is handed down to the 2 and 1 star hotels.
