Most religions have had their fair share of atrocities like the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I don't think you can hold that against the Mormons, but it should be pointed out that the head of the Mormon church is considered a prophet and that all LDS followers, including Mitt Romney, must unquestioningly abide by his dictates as if it were the word of God.

What's funny is to ask the Mormon missionaries that come to your door to tell you more about the Mountain Meadows Massacre...they get all flustered, some claim to not have the slightest idea what you're talking about.
They really squirm when you mention accounts of the Mormon murderers raping the (very) young girls who were in that doomed wagon-train.
