White people like casseroles

What kind of casseroles do black people eat?

Our xmas eve tradition was always "cavatini". Pretty easy to make in bulk and it re-heats well. Easy meals during the busy holiday season.

Chop up some onions, green pepper and mushroooms.

Sautee that with some italian sausage and garlic.

Buy some pasta shells, spiral noodles (rotini), and ziti. Cook all 3.

Stir the cooked pasta with spaghetti sauce, add the sausage/veggie mix and some diced pepperoni (important). Add garlic powder, parmesan, and red pepper to taste.

Stir this mix into a casserole tray, layering it with shredded mozzarella.

Bake it at 400 for 30-40 minutes, making sure the mozzarella is all melted.

Simple comfort food that refrigerates well for a few days and is easy to microwave.

One of the things that sucks about moving here from Philly is that these DC local yokels don't know how to eat properly. I miss being surrounded by Italians.

Anything baked with tomato sauce and melted cheese is usually pretty good.

I pick up stuff from the deli at Harris Teeter. Their sweet italian and sicilian sausages are good.

Mom used to fix us the tuna helper back in the late 70's. As I remember it sucked pretty bad and only white people could eat it.




Black folk like the sweet potato casserole with lots of marshmallows in it.
