The Killer Angels is my favorite. It's a novel that takes place during the Civil War by Michael Shaara. It's an excellent read!

If you want a good read, try some of the lesser known novels by Erich Maria Remarque, writer of All Quiet on the Western Front-

I can't say I have a favorite novel, but I read Shogun by James Clavell back in the 90s and it was definitely one of the best books I've ever read. It's an epic read (over 1,000 pages), excellent historical fiction with great characters. It really sticks out as a masterpiece in my mind.

Before this book I was a Boy. After this book I was a Man. A gay Man.

I'm so glad LGBT leftists forced me to read it...

The TV miniseries was good, too.

Take a trip to "The Japans"...

I don't think I have a favorite novel, or favorite movie, etc.

But Maupassant's Pierre and Jean is a very good novel (some call it a novella as it's not very long).

A few things stand out. At a certain point we think we know the characters, and then our understanding of them gets completely upended. The story builds to some very intense, almost excruciating emotional moments. And the story's themes, which at first seem rather narrow and parochial, expand in scope until by the end they encompass a profound take on human character and human nature.

don't know about favorite, but The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman appeals to me. Crazy book, especially for the time it was written. Weird, wild stuff.

No. I'd prefer not to imagine bodily functions involving the digestive system.

Sometimes I live in town,
sometimes I get a notion,

The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe. Wonderful book, terrible movie. On a somewhat lighter note, anything by Christopher Buckley.
