Forget Danica Patrick, Juan Pablo Montoya wrecked the jet-dry truck!

Wow, JP Montoya just lost control and ran into a jet dry truck that was helping clean the track after a different wreck. Now the thing is in an inferno!

Wow, how incredible is that?

It looks like Montoya wasn't paying attention and suddenly saw the safety truck and freaked out. He said nothing broke on the car and you can see the tire tracks where he suddenly hit the brakes.

I think he fucked up.

Is this Juan dead? Is it going to be like Dale Earnhardt where rednecks eulogize him for ten years after the wreck?

Blessed are the murderous.

No, he's fine, but the guy driving the truck went to the hospital.

With a name like "Juan" I doubt that would ever happen.

Just curious did Juan get out and run away after the wreck? That seems to be the norm.

Blessed are the murderous.

Just like anything in the south, the illegals are taking over.

Montoya was a Formula 1 driver, which is huge outside the US. A few of them have gotten into NASCAR, alot of money to be made.

His crash was crazy, I switched channels shortly after it happened and the whole track was on fire.

I can't believe he just freaked out and crashed, though. It looks like he hit something and skid into the truck.

Speaking of diversity, I notice they have an African-American commentator on one of the NASCAR shows. He seems to have been a driver at one point, but he looks pretty young. I'm assuming he probably did Nationwide for a few years and found doing broadcasting to be more lucrative.

One driver definitely had a cell phone with him in the car to tweet. I think Montoya was texting or checking his tweets when he looked up and suddenly saw the safety trucks. There was nothing on the track, ahead or behind him and he didn't mention anything "breaking" on the car during the interview just after the wreck.

Also, Nascar is just one long commercial, with bits of racing smattered in. Everything about it is a commercial. The cars, the suits, the cameras, the names of the races, the fans all wear advertisements and whenever they interview a driver, the first thing they do is mention the sponsors of the car, while drinking a Coke.

Kinda like all these supposed extreme sports I see with Monster and Red Bull logos everywhere.

Blessed are the murderous.

Back in the day, NASCAR had a black driver named Wendell Scott. Richar Pryor starred in a movie about him.

He never had great cars and was rarely in contention but he did win a race in Jacksonville FL in 1963. But here's the kicker: The race people annouced that one of the other drivers won the race, and that guy got to kiss the (white) beauty queen. Then, after everyone had gone home, they "discovered" that ol' Wendell had in fact won. By two laps!
