I'm not sure what their value season is...but a review of their rates for next weekend is showing $479/night (family of four) + a resort fee + meals. My first impression is that it's outrageously overpriced but, admittedly I've never been and clearly their business model is working.

Very overpriced. Nothing special about the place. There are some seedy people going there, not sure where they find the money. Maybe they take food stamps.

A few years ago, I looked into taking the kids there. It appears to be more expensive in the winter due to the fact that it's indoors and it's definitely higher priced during the longer school breaks (Xmas, spring break).

If it's a "family destination" that advertises heavily, expect to be raped at the door. I have the same impression of Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Yeah because if they showed the seedy ones I am sure no one of any means would book a weekend there A few years back they showed Six Flags in Maryland. It was all nice clean happy kids they also neglected to say it wasnt the Six Flags in Maryland but another one of their parks. You can guess why they did this.

My friend took his kid to GWL and was totally pissed, he said it must have been inner city day because the visitors were MFing everything in site and pushing and shoving other visitors. Sorry it is what it is. Kind of like that Family Day thing they throw at the National Zoo that ends up with mayhem.

We went last year with our two boys. It was NOT Disney World.

-The indoor water park was cold and packed

-The room was a suite and had many problems. The carpet was sticky. The fireplace did not work. Room service was slow.

-The food sucked

-The line to check in was crazy

-Many parents did not watch their bratty kids who would cut in line

I would say thumbs down.

Wow! So, how can they justify the rates they charge?

I think many parents go once and never go back. Plus if you have never had the Disney experience you do not know what you are missing.

I agree too about the Atlantis resort. It is nice but The One and Only resort is much nicer.

We have been there twice - the kids loved. Do not eat any meals there - the food is terrible. Plenty of places to eat in Williamsburg proper.

That rate is pretty steep. We have gotten rooms there for the range of $250 a night - and that was a room that slept 6.

Either there is a group there or there is some holiday that GWL is banking on.
