Does that permanently erase information from the hard drive also? Like Porn sites and such.

Run ccleaner and do a disc wipe using the disc wipe function and have it set for 32 times overwrite.

There are lots of sites that tell you how to clean your computer after browsing - all the major browsers can clean up their "visits", however it makes it rather inconvenient for sites that you log into since that typically uses cookies - part of the information cleaned up.

If you go that route, your disk drive, of course, contains all the deleted stuff still since the files/directory (folder) structures are usually not overwritten. There are free utilities to overwrite all free disk space - they take a relatively long time to do their thing - I do not know if the utilities are smart enough to erase PARTIAL disk/folder structures so there might be some residual deleted data left even after overwriting the entire "free" disk space.

[I've always assumed uSoft operating systems do not overwrite deleted data because of some agreement with The Gummamint...have zero evidence of that, of course]

Your browser, whichever one you use (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, whatever), will remove everything if you set its options up to do that. Up there at the top left of this window you'll see, maybe "Tools" or "Help" - somewhere in there are "Preferences" or "Options" that you can change.

The apparently removed information might still actually be on your computer so you have to use ANOTHER program/application to really get rid of it. I think you can search for something like "disk scrubber" to find a free application.
