According to the White House, the President opened the conversation by criticizing how Governor Brewer portrayed him in her book. The Governor invited the President to visit the Mexican border with her, and to discuss why her state is recovering faster than most others. The picture does look like she is making a forceful point toward him. Don't see the SS nearby waiting to wrestle her to the ground.

As for Arizona's economy, Massachusetts' unemployment rate was two percentage points lower in December 2011 than Arizona's, which was 8.7%. At the same time Indiana's is 9 percent, nearly as high as Michigan's. Florida's rate is 9.9%, which is higher than Michigan's. In fact, if you go through all of the states, most of the GOP/Tea Party states have unemployment rates as bad or worse than most Democratic-leaning states. In fact, many of the Democrat-controlled states have unemployment rates three and four percentage points lower than states like Mississippi and South Carolina.

So, in other words, she is full of shit about Arizona's economy somehow being superior to the rest of the country's due to some Tea Bagger magic she's casting on it.

First, I believe Obama referred to the police department as a whole as acting stupidly. Second, the cop was a public servant undertaking his civic duty, not a private citizen, and should have been open to scrutiny for his actions. Finally, Obama was wrong, plain and simple. He didn't grovel in the dirt and beg for forgiveness, but he made an effort to try to remedy the situation.

It was actually the folks making the arrest, who turned out to be one guy. But whatever, point taken. And that's clearly causal. More regulation, more taxes and unions equals more jobs. Why didn't I think of that? I also dispute the applicability of those stats to whatever it is you're trying to approve. For instance, VA is a right to work state with an economy better than almost the entire country. The bottom line is that there is very little correlation with respect to low unemployment rates and being a highly regulated, pro-union, high tax state. In fact, some of the highest unemployment rates are in those states, and some of the lowest are in right to work states. The stats by themselves prove nothing, other than you can't read too good.

Theres really only 1 county that just has a god awful rate and 2 that are above the average. A handful are at the average but the vast majority are below or well below the average.

I think Gov Brewer is NOT being respectful. No one actually knows what the two are discussing, at that very second the pic was being taken. However, clearly the two differ bnig-time on some key issues. If the US Govt(Feds) guarded the border correctly, Brewer and other border state Governors would have one less thing to worry about. Yet their resources are swamped by having to essentially be the de facto INS depts. I applaud her for giving him shit - if she did.

Correct. They are, constitutionally speaking, co-equal (either as sovereigns or heads of governmental branches).

I don't know if it is disrespectful for Obama to challenge the governor's account of their meeting, especially if he believes it is wrong. Should he have done it the first thing when he got off the plane? Probably not.

As for the Supreme Court thing, yeah, that was pretty tacky on Obama's part doing that during the State of the Union. Though I will admit he was absolutely right in his context of his criticism. But berating them while they are expected to sit politely during the speech was bad form on his part.

Its quite simple, the guy is flat out full of shit. He makes up these bat shit crazy stories and makes an issue out of the smallest little things in the most desperate attack campaign Ive ever seen. The GOP is getting crazier by the day. They are livid as they watch the insanity on the campaign trail because they see their chances slipping away as more and more people become aware of how limited the GOP field is. I'm really just now realizing how unintelligent they are. Some of the junk that comes out of their mouths is so student, offensive, and downright insulting! HOW STUPID are their supporters to keep believing this junk? The economy IS turning around. The jobs are coming back despite the republiCANTS' efforts to destroy anything THE President is doing to help! Well Karma will get them in the end!

Your true feelings are showing. You can't judge anything because your thoughts always go through a color prism first. It doesn't matter if it was a handout or not. They didn't just take the money and continue failing policies. They are now leading in the nation. The industry is thriving, but instead of you looking at it as a good thing, you run it through you prism and only see the bad things which are made up mostly in your mind.

Respect is EARNED. Neither that silly governor, nor SOME of the justices deserve it. They have lost the respect they normally would have deserved because of their own actions!

Obama probably didnt know because he isnt too worried about too much south of the Mason Dixon line but Holder is either clueless about his agency or had Fawn Hall doing his office shredding. Do you really think that it at least might have been mentioned to him in casual conversation at the Justice Dept. men's room about selling firearms to an entity that will eventually threaten the country more than the Taliban?
