20 min give or take. that should do it? the security guy had to let it charge for like 10 min before it would start. but then again, who knows how charged the box was to begin with.

Letting your car run for 20 minutes or so should charge the battery sufficiently that it will start again, although this can be affected by cold weather.
You may want to invest in a good set of jumper cables ($15-$25) or even an emergency jumpstarter (about $100) if you want to be on the safe side. There are few things that suck more than being a woman alone with a dead battery late at night. Remember to keep the emergency jumpstarter charged, however, or it's less than useless.
This trannie can handle herself. She'll be fine at night.

If you have a manual transmission, then you fortunately also have a third option for starting a dead car :-)
