WORCESTER (CBS) — A grand jury has indicted a bouncer on charges he beat, robbed and kidnapped a man who was at the club where he worked in Worcester.

Easton Byfield, 36, of Oxford, was indicted on charges of unarmed robbery, assault and battery, and aggravated kidnapping. The incident was captured on video and posted on YouTube. It then went viral, leading to Byfield’s arrest in February.

Byfield allegedly beat up a man in a bathroom at Platinum Premier Club in Worcester. The victim, a man in his 20s, did not report the incident when it happened saying he feared for his safety, but it was recorded on a cell phone by another of the club’s employees.

Officers said the bouncers first took the customer in the bathroom and accused him of dealing drugs, but he had no drugs on him and then he was robbed. “This is your sacrifice right here,” the bouncer is heard to say in the video as he flashes the cash.

Investigators say Byfield is then seen punching the victim in the face and head. Byfield also took money from the victim’s wallet and kept it.

At one point, the victim is ordered to kneel and pray to the bouncer saying, “Oh great (expletive) brown dude…” “You’re lucky I didn’t bring you in the basement and (expletive) dismantle you. You’re lucky to be able to walk out of here,” says the bouncer on the video.

Byfield will be arraigned on Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court

This happened in February where has the media been on this story. If the roles were reversed the FBI would have already arrested the bouncer and the club paid millions to Jesse Jackson and company.

I have been in some clubs and seen bouncers, black and white, rough up customers. This is one of the few times I have heard of them being arrested for such activity. They may ask you to leave and if you dont they are allowed to remove you from the premises but like the police they cannot use excessive force.

I hope this guy, regardless if he was using drugs or not, sues the club and the bouncer gets some serious jail time where he will be on the receiving end of abuse.

The real tragedy here is that the club was serving customers watered down drinks.

at the end of the video the bouncer says don't attack me when I'm walking around in the club; as if that would be plausible self defense claim in court for accosting the guy in the bathroom.

At 3:13 is the closest the little white guy came to standing up for himself. He actually dared to raise his left (non fighting hand) to slightly below chest level. Meanwhile the bouncer's right hand was right in front of the victim's face.

The bouncer would not tolerate even a hint of defiance on the part of the little white guy and quickly hit him in the face again.

The maybe 3/10's of a second that the victim had his left hand up was the only defiant body language that suggested that he was even considering standing up for himself in anyway.

He quickly changed his plan of action though when he saw what response it brought out. In the end he wound up worshiping his assailant.

This is why bouncers aren't worth the shit around my asshole! You put a bouncer in a fight against someone he has a chance with, well it just won't happen they're too chicken shit to pick on someone bigger and better than they are. You have to prove damages and mental anguish doesn't over to well in courts these days. He could collect medical bills if he went to the hospital, maybe claim brain damage from the punches if he finds the correct doctor, but I doubt that.

You must have never seen the inside of a courtroom except when you paid a traffic ticket for speeding. A jury trial will eat this business alive.
