We All Knew Teachers Were Bad ...
A Prince William County English and social studies teacher has been charged with helping four teens leave a Manassas-area juvenile shelter, police said.
Police allege that Timothea Dzan, a county teacher assigned to the M.E.S.H. Juvenile Facility, helped four teens, aged 14 to 17-years-old, escape the facility for troubled juveniles on Sept. 8 at 2:10 p.m., Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Dzan allegedly gave the teens tips on how to escape the facility, which is located at 8642 Wellington Road, near the George Mason University’s Prince William campus outside of Manassas, Perok said.
The teens were found in the area of Balls Ford Road and Ashton Avenue, shortly after their getaway, and were not charged, police said.
Dzan, 53, of the 2900 block of Marsala Court, near Antietam Elementary in Lake Ridge, was arrested Sept. 14 and charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and four counts of aiding in the escape of a child, Perok said.
She was held in lieu of a $5,500 secured bond.
Police did not have Dzan’s court date immediately available.
Dzan was placed on administrative leave, Prince William County Schools spokesman Ken Blackstone said.
