I have been thinking 24/7 for some really annoying phrases but cannot come up with any at the end of the day. I chalk it up to eating lots of shit food like hot pockets and twinkies. I need to eat some brain food like veggies or something to wrap my head around this thread and facilitate a good response.

I find myself using this stupid one more than I'd like to admit. I always love hearing some 20 year old talk about "back in the day" like 2004 or something..

Verbiage

Seriously!?

Dude

hearing niche pronounced nitch

hearing forte pronounced fort

saying next when you mean this (though this is an Americanism, confuses me constantly - as in next "Friday we'll go out"...what they mean to say is this Friday...next Friday would be the one following this one)

saying last when you should say past (as in last summer it was bloody hot - in my mind that's 2009...in the speaker's its 2010 - should be this past summer it was bloody hot)....again tis another Americanism that confuses me.

Bi-weekly - why not just use fortnight (14 nights or 2 weeks) - I'm always wondering is it twice in a week or every other week.

How about the use of "for a minute" to mean a long time?

I have a law degree from Marymount University (and a Degree of Distinction from American Public University), and I know what I'm talking about.

"Me Personally, I ......" Usually said by an uneducated or drunk woman trying to get her very personal point across.

Ginormous - Ginormous is not a fucking word, IT IS NOT A FUCKING WORD

"It is what it is" - It is what, what is? .. WHAT!? Then the interviewer ( usually an athlete in an interview) looks at him like he said something profound.

"Where you at" - or any instance where one uses "at" in the end of a sentence. Then argue with you that it is proper english.

"i cant, im on my period."

bitch i put tabasco on my eggs, what makes you think I dont want to do it?
---------------------------

"what?"

when used habitually this pisses my off, it shows inattentiveness and makes me think you are dumb so i speak slower and use even easier words to help you better understand me.
---------------------------

"diligent"

just the word alone pisses me off
---------------------------

"phenomenal"

its a great word, but put into the mouth of the right person can turn it into a monstrosity

Team Player -- "are you a team player?", "you must be a team player". Who came up w/ this crap?

Multitask

"Lemme' tell ya somethin'" , usually from a "know it all" that knows nothing.

Actually -- used at the beginning of almost every sentence

"These ones" (Incorrect English)

Also, I hate it when people inappropriately use "Less", when it should be "Fewer".

Some black lady at a car dealership told me: "It is, what it is", and that really pissed me off. It sounds so stereotypically ignorant, like something I actually expected her to say.

the only people that have a difficult time saying "Alzheimer's" are people with a stuttering disorder, people still learning english, the mentally retarded and people that have suffered a head injury.

now now, gravis, although i dont understand the mechanics behind not being able to say it, i know its not nice to ridicule others on their lack of pronunciation.

it's not ridicule, i just pointed out the only possible reasons for not being able to say it. if someone cannot learn to say a word then they are in one of the categories listed.
