The tax penalties should start around 2025 and it seems easiest to simply tax the hell out of liquid fuels. If we can get gas up to 10 dollars a gallon it will really help.

Something like that is going to have to happen. A lot of Americans are just too stupid to understand how important it is that we all switch to electric. As the demand for gas drops we need to keep the taxes very high.
