Nothing says complete lamerness more than Jimmy Buffet. And I can't stand when people get all excited about him. His music's retarded.

I think his music is fine, always happy times. But can you imagine being him and having to sing the same god damn songs every single day for the rest of your life. Even if I got paid millions, I'd be bored out of my mind singing Cheeseburger in Paradise after 5000 times. And you have to sing it right otherwise people will get pissed, and you have to sing the popular songs every time. Good for him really, but I couldn't do it.

I must admit though, his Margaritaville bar in Las Vegas is actually a pretty cool place. It's one of the better bars on the Strip, IMO.

Jimmy Buffet is so milktoast lame, but I'll admit that there was a time where we liked to get drunk to his "Best Of" CD. But I was about 21, sitting on a sofa outside of my college townhouse during spring finals and basically not giving a fuck. Now? Forget it. The music sucks.

Buffet fans are typically middle aged parents that need an excuse to "let it all hang out" and get drunk. But they've forgotten how to be "wild". I guess Buffet has hit into a niche - people who wish they could say "fuck this rat race shit, let's just live on beach, operate a umbrella rental stand, boat on my days off, and drink". Basically a homeless drunk but in nicer settings.

Yeah, 25+ years ago Buffett fans were drunk frat boys/sorority chicks. Now they have "grown up, at least physically.

I have met him several times - he is a friend of a good friend. He gets through singing Margarataville every night through some intense meditation 1 hour before each show. Plus the $1 million per show fee he charges makes the bitter pill swallowable.

He has his audience, they are getting older and a tad smaller - but he is in his 60s and gets a hefty paycheck for his Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday gigs.

I can not say anything bad about him. He always had a very nice food/drink backstage before the show and my friend always got me and the Mrs comped tickets.

Their "top shelf" margaritas are excellent and pack quite a wallop. Two of those will have you wandering around in a nice haze all afternoon. Their outdoor patio deck is a good place to chill. I always encourage people not to be scared off by the Buffet theme, it's a cool bar.

I know three or four people that have met him too over the years in the islands or at shows and they seem to like him. Don't know if it's the celeb factor or if he's a good dude.

I don't think you're kidding at all about the medication before playing "Magartiaville" for the 600,000th time though. For a mil a show, I'd learn to love that song myself, but if overhearing that shit is agonizing for me, I'm sure it's therapy-inducing for him.

About 15 years I use to listen to Buffet all the time and enjoyed going to his concert with friends. Now I really don't care for the music. It is so OVER played.

I went to a Buffet concert about 8 years ago and had a blast, but I would say it more like a Greatful Dead type thing. Nobody really gave a shit about music, it was just a great excuse to get drunk, see girls flash their tits and hang out with laugh happy drunks who offer you a drink every five seconds.

I've met a lot of people from the local parrot head club. Cool odd group but a fun bunch. They don't take themselves that serious at all and no attitude. Very different than a lot of stuck yuppies.

The parrot heads are more of sitting on a beach happy type people than positioning themselves for the latest political party fundraiser postion.

i was impressed and i hate jimmy biffet. that place draws a diverse crowd for sure. i would probably go there again.

It's actually a three-level wooden deck with bars on the top two tiers. The upper level is great for hanging out and watching the throngs of drunken people roaming the Strip.

I was (by chance) staying at the Flamingo during it's grand opening, back in like 06 or 07. Jimmy Buffet was actually staying at the hotel and the place was crawling with Parrotheads. Tons of ugly, drunken midwestern women everywhere you went. It was sorta funny though.

I hate that fucking song. It's relentless at weddings. When I got married, my wife and I specifically told the DJ - no "Celebration", no chicken dance, no electric slide, no macarena - absolutely none of that typical cheesy wedding music. He was very happy, as he was also sick of that crap.

That's what I was thinking, it sounds more like a 3-4 person pitcher. I try not to drink like that when I'm in Vegas. Stay-in-control.

Here's a good breakfast pic though. You can walk next door to the Victorian Room at Bill's anytime of day and get the prime rib deal. Ate this bitch at 8AM cuz it's better than being hungry all day on a plane ride. The only weird part was trying to eat a salad at 8AM.

The 2 dollar hotdogs are right near the sports book, on the left as you walk back into the casino They're always there, 24/7. Always a nice-looking chick too.

You can get .99 cent margarita's at the back bar there too.

Trust me on this. I'm a big fan of that place.

i found the 99 cent margaritas. i made friends with the jersey looking bartenders. i liked bills and i would go back there again, great room prices too.
