Redskins prediction-

At some point in the season, Portis is going to be pulled out during a game. The Redskins will lose that game or some other game where Portis wasn't playing at what turns out to be a critical down. Controversy will ensue. Danny Boy and Portis will be sitting around Danny Boy's mansion drinking scotch and smoking cigars. By the end of the season, if the Skins are out of play-off contention, Danny Boy will be getting ready to fire Bruce Allen.

It's not a coincidence that during the last big Redskins celebration thing, Vinny Cerrato was there. The guy obviously got an invitation from someone to attend. That wasn't an accident.

At some point, whether Portis likes it or not he's going to be in the twilight of his career, disposable, and not worth jack shit to The Midget.

Oh...and the Skins finish 7-9.

I think it is funny how the Skins homers are on here yelling "13-3 baby!" Compared to the other stadiums I've seen on TV this preseason, FedEx Field was a ghost town during the first pre-season game. I have a feeling that most fans still aren't buying Danny Boy's latest charade.

9-7 or 10-6. The OL is much better than it used to be. We have a legit QB and the D will be good. I think we make the playoffs and win a game.

There's no depth on the O-Line. That has been a problem every year. Sooner or later a starter will go down. Then they will start this musical O-Lineman shit again.

As for Defense, I heard a lot of great analysis about this after the game. They don't have the Linebackers to do an effective 3-4. Not enough speed or coverage skills. And, seriously, with the exception of Hall, who had a nice pick in the first pre-season game, and maybe Landry, who do you have in the secondary? Rogers? Doughty? Tryon? Horton? Any of those names make you feel confident?

OL depth is definitely a problem. I'm hoping that we make a couple of good acquisitions of camp castoffs who can still play before Week 1. Guys like Capers and E. Williams might step up as well.

The LB thing is obviously not good. Andre Carter is not suited for this defense. I'm hoping that we can find a good 3-4 LB to replace him. Hall and Rodgers are fine. We have some good depth in the secondary (Moore, Doughty, Horton and Landry). We have an awesome line with Carriker, Kemo and Haynesworth. We'll be fine.

If I had to pick our huge weaknesses, they would be 1) WR, 2) OL depth and 3) OLBs, so you hit on a couple.

The receivers are a joke. I think McNabb hit only one of them when he was in. Everything else was Cooley. You can only get away with that so long if you have no deep threats.

I wouldn't say that they're a "joke," but they're not good. Moss is about it in terms of top shelf talent. The rest are castoffs. I'm hoping that Thomas pans out, but it's hard to tell if he will. Are you a Skins fan or just totally jaded? It's fine if you're jaded. I was for most of the past two years, but for some reason I'm optimistic with the new regime.

Moss is fine, but he's not a #1 receiver. He would be better as a #2 or in the slot. In fact, he would be deadly in the slot. But instead they keep him in a position where he has the least amount of impact. Makes no sense.

Galloway and the rest are castoffs, though I think Galloway looked pretty good on that pass McNabb threw out of bounds.

I think the verdict is in on Thomas and Kelly. They suck. Thomas can get open, but has shitty hands. Kelly has great hands, but can't get open. (Anyway to gene-splice these two?) Armstrong and some of the other receivers looked good, but there's no indication of how they would do in the regular season. I did like Armstrong's moxie and blocking ability.

Am I a fan? Sometime last season I put a long rant on here about how I've given up the the Redskins. I do believe they will never find success as long as Dan Snyder owns them. He can make all the excuses he wants, but he can't change who he is and that character, or lack thereof, permeates his organization.

I will be cheering for the Ravens. While the Redskins were fucking around with Galloway, the Ravens acquired a potential Hall of Fame receiver and a solid #2. This should be a good year.

Moss is pretty solid but he's not the kind of kid who can take the team deep into the playoffs. The Skins really should work out a trade for somebody like Larry Fitzgerald or Randy Moss. They'd have a real shot if they can get someone of that caliber on the team, mark my words.

Agreed, he should be in the slot. I'm still hoping they get Jackson and we can use Moss in the best place.

Correct again. They're castoffs, but you're right that Galloway had a ton of separation with the defense. Should have been a huge gain. Roydell W. looked OK. He should be serviceable.

Thomas will be fine, I think. Kelly's a goner. Armstrong looked good. He sould make the team.

Yes, I despise Snyder. I'm hoping he changed his ways this year.

Ouch...don't know about that. Very solid team with great front office and a lot of talent, but jeez, it's the Ravens! Ray Lewis...ugh!

The team sat on its hands when Boldin was available. As for Randy Moss, they could have accomplished the same thing, for less money, with TO, but didn't. Besides Larry Fitzgerald IS the Cardinals right now, so I don't see him going anywhere.

He is still a threat as a #2. I bet he and Ochocinco end up with pretty decent stats this year.

I also think he and Ochocinco won't be talking to each other by the end of the season, but that's a given with TO.

I actually like Ochocinco (even though I think he isn't very smart) because he keeps things light and isn't too goddamn serious. He plays a game for a living... TO, on the other hand, is a little bitch. I hate people who feel entitled to shit just because they say so. TO is that kind of person.

I agree. Ochocinco is more of a Deion Sanders-type entertainer. TO has more of a destructive, narcissistic personality.

Ray Lewis is obnoxious, true. But Ed Reed is a beast! He's a fun guy to watch.
