Gates still owns 1.?% shares but will no longer have any say, and will hang with family and do charity. He's around 65 in age so he's certainly not too old. It may be political he may not be powerful enough to stay in that seat.

I believe it's all level field from here for microsoft - but not a bad business.

They have gov business but will loose markets to ubuntu (cell phone and cell app) eventually as it's source code is stolen. they will have sales of cheap (dumped on the market china laptops) from pc stores which is many (sales/users).

Windows 10 is stable but they create instability with weekly updates that:

* allows asia weekly access to be administrator on your PC "update", perhaps continually

* allows any game or app you install to become the administrator and interrogate your system for personal information and phone home (to foreign country your private information)

* MS has become a big company with illegal alien employees that get code from federal sources. every time an update is allowed from "foreigners" there's that chance you got malware appearing to be "a fix". this means updates from microsoft in the long run have a risk of making things both better AND worse

pc stores have become mostly asian stuff except Intel cpu (also 1/2 made in asia, check your model#) it's not that american tech doesn't make the same stuff - it's that pc stores sell dumped products and that means china dominance and Microsoft Windows in other words.

(ESPECIALLY Steam Games - which is phenomenon of hoarding code and games and forcing gamers to buy from them (even Apple and Microsoft have lost business to them) - which contains Ubuntu and malware (all stolen from US GOV and industry and twisted to be run by foreigners). Many users have complained they don't wish to give games administrator privelage and it isn't necessary: but Steam Games refuses: and they are likely to take all the game code and send it to china and might "suddenly go poof" leaving china with "all the game code" relatively / competitively. So it's not just admin priv it's that Steam intently makes Windows 10 very insecure - likely PERMANENTLY SO (these days a "militarized hacker" can hide code inside your electronics - impossible to get out - no antivirus would ever work))

Windows 10 is still a good gaming platform and for light office use (perhaps the best cost wise, perhaps not compared to Apple overall) (i don't suggest using it for any banking information and who really cares about personal information) but I wouldn't use it for purchasing games (even steam games played on it - use another device for purchase to keep your private information off the platform). Why i wouldn't use it is you might get a call from your bank saying you must come in and explain to them why your account has been robbed: and that is really a serious thing.

I'M UNSURE BILL LEAVING WILL CHANGE THE SECURITY ASPECT. HE WAS MOSTLY HANDS OFF - MEANING A COMPANY USING WINDOWS10 COULD "FIND SECURITY THEMSELVES" OR HIRE SOMEONE. he was never a leader in giving security to unaware users or preventing malware from being on a pc shelf - wasn't his deal.

business aspect? you can expect share holders and the hindu to ... f up over time - outsource all the windows code to china (by then China will also be trying to push Intel off the market) - which will be damaging for Apple

for the present and for a while there would be no difference because always the Microsoft Windows line was ... inexpensive and there. it was never perfect. it is better than it has been. (it won't stay in their hands i imagine - foreigners will walk out the door with it / already have)

not today - but far future you'll see samsung and china using usa's unix and Windows and apple's code to push usa electronics off usa's shelf: that was the whole idea behind Ubuntu: prevent americans from modifying any "security overthrow" code.

Microsoft has been "good for the android market" but asians want Ubuntu to control it (which is controlled by terrorists and asians and in the long run asians)

Already asians have shot down any attempt for Win10 to run on cell phones. Microsoft hampered by many US to stay out of producing phones (after european lawsuits) - never entered.

Microsoft will have to fight the tendency for Ubuntu to be installed and "run things once there" and have it's (code compiling system) walk out the door (meaning to it's competitor asia controlled ubuntu). If they don't they end up with asian notebooks books challenging them on price (not a good place to be) and hacking from the inside of microsoft arm twisting customers to buy asian controlled products running ubuntu.

Already ubuntu "kontrols" (is installed with) the Steam Game marketplace which is a BIG marketplace - not nearly as big as "government" though.

where does europe benefit here? seeing a pie in USA's face and sacrificing their own future?

i think it was probably wrong for USA to "prevent microsoft from making it's own cell phone". i think if they did though - they've have made it in china anyway.

but Microsoft isn't on any cell phone. it still has that "pc interface" doesn't it?

will pc dominance be all it needs going forward?

Why is Bill leaving are they not listening to him or "shooting down his advice" souring the milk ? Too many foreign governments involved ?

Or is Bill just tired of the "app trolling industry" (staying in power despite laws splitting them up) and not concerned where it's headed anymore ?

Unlike many foreigners ...

I paid for DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 ... Windows 10 (a US based firm at least up till now). Paid for Apple iPhone and iMac. Didn't run stolen software.

And damn proud of it.

many users and developers (and myself) were harmed by how bad Win95 was

however usa never applied any laws on micrsoft and the euro lawsuit was "total bullshit", the ruling addressed no issue that effected developers or consumers.

(meaning - microsoft may have owed Apple money (and paid btw) and usa developers an apology (broken platform anti-competitive) and jobs (in the win95 period) - but didn't owe to stay out of the cell business or to be split up)
