I don’t get it, we need to know how high it was, I thought helicopters only flew about 2000-4000 feet, I know that area has some hills, so how high was it?

You would think a qualified pilot flying in near white out conditions would be made aware of the height of every object he could possibly encounter within a fifty or more mile radius of where he was flying and have his eyes glued to the altimeter. But you would be wrong.

It's called "get-there-itis". Only a few more minutes, I can do this, we can make it.

It distorts your judgement and ends up getting people killed.

I would hate being a pilot of any rich spoiled star. Imagine telling him, it’s not safe and we should cut this trip short, nome sane

Falling at 2000 fpm usually is an indication the rotors were in autorotation. That’s what the pilot performs when there is engine failure but the S-76 is a twin turbine shafted helicopter.
To early for NTSB or professional conclusions but never to early for FFU’s finest theorists.

A rich, spoiled asshole died using a helicopter to run errands (high school basketball). Tough shit for him. Sometimes you make your own luck.

I will mention the wildlife that died. One tall monkey and a few smaller monkeys died.

Flying a helicopter takes some very special skills, you need to be highly trained to handle one of those fuckers. Flying like a real pro. That’s why this pilot would’ve never been man enough to pilot one of Trump’s copters. He wasn’t up to the task which was already quite obvious.
