Gaza isn't in Israel. It was originally part of British Palestine. After Britain left it was awarded to Egypt as part of the cease fire terms ending the war of 1948-119. Israel occupied Gaza during the 6 Days war. Israel never annexed Gaza or claimed any authority over it, except as an occupying power.
