FBI agent in texts: 'We'll stop' Trump from becoming president

An FBI agent who was removed from the investigation into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia texted another former member of the investigation that the investigation would "stop" then-candidate Donald Trump from becoming president.

Text messages disclosed in the Justice Department inspector general's report on former FBI Director James Comey's handling of the Clinton email investigation between Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page show Strzok apparently reassuring Page that Trump would not become president, The Washington Post reports.

“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” Page texted Strzok in August 2016.

“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.

Strzok and Page would later be removed from the investigation over the text messages, which were obtained by internal investigators.

With as many ties to Russia as Trump has, why wouldn't the FBI investigate him when he was a candidate?

Honestly, how many presidential candidates sat down with the leader of our biggest enemy 3 years before the election? No wonder Trump was "Singled out"
