Market Up 19% Since Election – 1 in 4 Days a New Record High

Jim Hoft Jul 28th, 2017 7:52 am

Yesterday the US Stock Market set another all time high.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its 28th all time high of 2017 yesterday closing at 21,796. There have been a total of 131 days where the markets have closed since President Trump’s inauguration on January 20th. The DOW has closed at all time highs 28 of those days for more than 20% or one-fifth of the days the market has been open. The market is up 10% since the inauguration.

Since the election on November 8th the DOW has closed at record highs an amazing 45 times! More than one-fourth or 25% of the 179 days the markets have closed have been record highs since the November 8th election. The market is up 19% since the election.

Thanks Trump!

Hey , I'm all for the rise in the stock market but it is highly unlikely that the numbers under Trump will get anywhere close to the numbers under Obama.

"Investor enthusiasm around his presidency has helped push the Dow Jones industrial average to the cusp of 20,000.

Now all President-elect Donald Trump needs to do while in office to get the Dow to 50,000 is match the stock market's performance under his predecessor."

He'd also have to crash it to a little less than 9,000 to match Obama at the lowest point in his presidency (6626 in March 2009). Lies, damn lies and statistics.

The economy and stock market are mostly reflective of congress. When democrats run congress, the economy and stock market tank. When the GOP takes over it skyrockets.

Har. In March of 2009 Obama had been in office a couple of months. These idiot Trumpers/right wingers always think that since Obama was elected in 2008 he's responsible for the economy in all of 2008. Seen it on FFXU a dozen times.

You see what you want to see. Obama had a historic low to build off of and a Fed that gave away money to Wall Street and corporate America to buy their own stock. Obama's economy was the worst in terms of growth since the Great Depression. Almost no growth. Don't come on here acting like you have a clue....you don't.

You tards wanted to give the mullato all the credit when the markets went up, wanted to blame Bush or Congress when the markets went down and now want to minimize Trump when the markets are crushing. You're tards because you think the president has a long term impact on the DOW.

Yeah, I'll believe someone who calls the President a "mullato", and who doesn't know how to spell "mulatto", and then calls others "tards". You can't make this stuff up.

Lies and statistics indeed. Obama took office 1/20/2009 so yeah, the failed economy created by W had caused the dow to hit rock bottom

QE1 - March 2009
QE2 - November 2010
QE3 - September 2012

Now go back and look at your spikes in the DOW. Moron

That's a real good one. Guy actually blames Bill Clinton for an economic crash that happened 8 years after he left office. You mean, he made huge mistakes during his term, but there was no way for Bush to fix it with only 8 years in office? Wow, must have been a big fucking mistake.

That's the fact. The root causes for the bubble were (largely intentionally) created long before Bush was involved.

"The majority report finds fault with two Fed chairmen: Alan Greenspan, who led the central bank as the housing bubble expanded, and his successor, Ben S. Bernanke, who did not foresee the crisis but played a crucial role in the response. It criticizes Mr. Greenspan for advocating deregulation and cites a “pivotal failure to stem the flow of toxic mortgages” under his leadership as a “prime example” of negligence."

"...The decision in 2000 to shield the exotic financial instruments known as over-the-counter derivatives from regulation, made during the last year of President Bill Clinton’s term, is called “a key turning point in the march toward the financial crisis.”
