The specter of a $100 million libel suit scared CNN into retracting a poorly reported story that slimed an ally of President Trump’s — and forcing out the staffers responsible for it, The Post has learned.


CNN immediately caved after Scaramucci, a financier and frequent network guest, cried foul and threatened to take legal action, sources said Tuesday.

Scaramucci got an unusual public apology but still hired a top Manhattan lawyer to put further pressure on CNN and “look after [his] interests in this matter,” one source said.

Sources also said the three journalists responsible for the retracted story — reporter Tom Frank, editor Eric Lichtblau and Lex Haris, who headed the CNN Investigates unit — were urged to resign.

I saw those reports and did avoid it more.

I also saw foreign countries with democrat ties claimed USA beef was mad cow beef and refused American export of beef, despite there being absolutely no indication of it being true: it was just an excuse to increase the trade deficit and attack usa infrastructure, one of many excuses democrats were happy to sign for (for a price $$)

fact is democrats aren't just "letting in illegals", they are attacking any part of USA for a price any foreigner will pay

i had no damn idea Pink Slime was proven to be an absolutely false report in Court and that ABC had to pay out $2 billion USD. THey paid triple the usual price because they lied about food, which is (still) considered kind of sacred in the USA.

the lie they made the images 'pink' using TV camera color adjustment - mocking the fact that beef may contain safe food coloring (not red #5, safe) to make it more attractive that it naturally would be

(naturally, it would grey some due to shipping and butchering and being on the shelf waiting - infact i kinda preffered that - when i first started seeing colored beef i though - holy crap i hate that - why don't they leave natural and good enough alone??)

so the thing was the beefers were using ammonia (not for drinking!) or citric acid to clean their machines. obviously the court ruled that there was no significant ammonia in the product (it had evaporated and etc, it was used for cleaning it was never put into the beef as a preservative, no way).

BEFORE PINK SLIME, ABC ET ALL WERE RUNNING NEWS THAT USA BEEF WERE NOT CLEANING THEIR MACHINES WELL ENOUGH and that as a result all lawsuits against beefers by those claiming to be sick after eating beef were valid

there was similar brewhaha with california and (was it spinach? what illness did a few people claim? e cola i?) - and that the all the spinach in the usa must be pulled from shelved did TV say?

California sued TV (i can't remember if they won) the story was irresponsible and untrue .

spinach is a valuable export and china england spain are hot on california's tails to overtake them as suppliers

some do not remember the days when Japan was crying that fresh fruit costed hundreds of dollars and only rich japanese could afford it. (point here is: agricultural lies f'ing over usa are not a small thing, not at all!)

it hasn't been one time democrat news has been attacking a USA product. it's been ALL ALONG they have

don't forget stars and strips having to gag them, MIL leak issues
