When I worked as a staffer on the House Budget Committee from 2005-2007, I saw first-hand what happens when you try to bring a bill to the floor before you're sure you have the votes to pass it. We've seen it a few times in the years since on other bills, and now we're seeing it again. This is not a comment on the legislation; it's simply a comment on floor management of bills. It's not good...

7 years of this and they still needed to put together a bill in the basement in secrecy over a couple weeks and throw it on the floor and say here, vote on this. It's repeal and replace lmao.

In remarks to the National Governors Association before the meeting with insurers, Trump said the plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act would give states the flexibility they need to make health care work. He also said the politically wise thing for Republicans would be to let the law "implode" so that its failure can be blamed on the Democrats.

"Let it be a disaster, because we can blame that on the Dems that are in our room — and we can blame that on the Democrats and President Obama," Trump said. "But we have to do what's right, because Obamacare is a failed disaster."

Only because they have to in order to get it through as reconciliation. Once it becomes more clear that the Dems aren't going to be bailed out they'll be a lot more cooperative and that won't be necessary.

That's not a bad idea, actually. I feel bad for the people who are hurt by this, but if that is what it takes........

I would take Obamacare and turn it into single- payer. Let the government set limits on rxs and things. Trump has already said he wants to negotiate with Big Pharma. So, do it. Get the overpaid insurance execs out of it. They got their 8 figure salaries in spite of everything that happened. It would greatly simplify things and save a lot of money. No more fumbling around with all these different plans. Let it be self-funded by individual and corporate taxes. No more premiums. Take out the middleman.

That's not true, not one Libtard has said there isn't any problems with Obamacare. They all have said it needs work. Even Obama said it wasn't perfect and he welcomed any good changes to make it better.
