Meade is alive and well and living in Richmond, this is just a publicity stunt. Like the "Paul is dead" rumor back in the 1970s that alleged Paul McCartney was killed and a replacement was installed, some guy. Meade wants to generate more record sales, he is a smart business man.

A group of religious cultists have kidnapped him and keep him from all outside influences. It's a sort of evil intervention wherein they've convinced him it's for his own good. He already was showing traces of Stockholm Syndrome last year, but now they're in phase 2.

He feels that, like so many who went the extra mile to support Trump, he deserves some sort of federal sinecure as a reward. And Trump might just be the sort who would welcome a sign waver on the front lawn. Perhaps Meade could dress up as Uncle Sam, and wave a sign reading 'MAGA'.
